I was in charge of planning the food for my sister's birthday party. She was turning 50, so we booked a room at a local venue and invited about 100 people. I chose Dumplin's because I had heard so much about this caterer. I am new to Jackson, so I was anxious to try their food. When I called Dumplin's, they explained a little bit about their catering menu and directed me to their website. We decided to set up the party food in a buffet style, and they had lots of menu options for this type of service. The person was extremely friendly and helpful on the phone and went over all of the options with me. I was unsure about certain choices, and they helped guide me in the right direction. At the party, the caterer set the food table up by themselves. I planned on helping, but was too distracted with decorations. The table looked amazing, and the food was beautiful. We had two meat entrees, beef tips and Malibu chicken, along with green beans and baked potato casserole. The buffet also had rolls, salad and a chocolate sheet cake. We decided not to buy utensils and plates because we had already chosen these to match our decor. The food was really good. The chicken was a little too dry, and the cake was bland. The green beans and potato casserole were out of this world. The price was more than we had planned on spending, but I think the food was worth it. I would use Dumplin's for catering again.
