I'm looking for some ideas to make sure everyone is having fun at the company picnic this summer. I want to do more than play frisbee or whiffle ball this year. smile

Hello everyone!
There must be a proper plan before company outing to make it fun and interesting. It is important to concern on important factors like:
  • Fixing appropriate date so that every member at the company can give time that day because it feels worse to be left-out.
  • Prepare good foods .
  • Inviting employees family can increase the fun at company outing.
  • Choosing right types of games which will suitable for people from child to adult.
  • Focus more on deciding proper venue
Company picnics can be an outstanding part of the year with the right balance of food, fun, and relaxation which can also create a more productive work environment, happier families, birth new friendships, and make everyone thankful for the place they get to serve each day.
Have fun!

Last year, I rented a dozen Zorb Balls. (inflatable, climb inside, bump around a bit) I got the medium ones that allow you to run around. I created a tournament of teams (2 6man teams) and played soccer. Those who participated absolutely loved it & those who did not participate very much enjoyed watching and cheering. It turned out to be the highlight of the picnic, so much so, that they've asked to do it again this year. Ever heard a staff ask to do the same thing 2 years in a row? I highly recommend them, best bang for my buck yet. Note: They may be called something different in your neck of the woods.

I liked what we did last year. The location was excellent, the food was the best, and there was plenty of room for our kids to play.

If the weather holds out, there’s room for fishing, jet skiing, canoeing, bad mitten or volleyball, corn hole, a moon bounce and Beyoncé (karaoke) to perform. Plus, some summer fun give away!

Mobile scoop shop and Rock climbing wall would be my favorite features of a company picnic. In this new world where people weigh their food and are really into fitness (like myself) being able to climb a rock wall and immediately getting some yogurt or ice cream after would be ideal!

Ever thought about a Mobile Scoop Shop? Everyone loves frozen desserts (Ice Cream, Italian Ice, Sorbets) and a summer event is a great time to take advantage of the opportunity. If you are in the NW, Portland area, I'd love to help! www.MitasItalianIce.com

I'm biased, as I own Hunt Country Parties, but we rent chickens and everything for a farm party and that adds a lot of interest to a corporate picnic.

Slot Car Racing! Fun, interactive, and involves not just the racers, but brings spectators as well. Great for kids from 6-60+. A good slot car track will be digital, allowing multiple racers to share lanes, change lanes to overtake, and of course, what would racing be without the occasional crash. Races2U brings slot car tracks to locations all over the country, and they are always a big hit wherever we go. Visit our website @ www.races2u.com to see what we do, or look for Races2U on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and more.

Get a theme (i.e. old fashioned picnic, western picnic), etc. Have someone come in and do face painting/glitter tattoos for the kids, get a musical group, get a magician. For games--depends on the theme: could do sack races, rings on bottles, etc.

What about create your picnic with a "Carnival" twist, Include games that you might find in a carnival. Or a small scavenger hunt in which you can include groups (teams) instead of individuals, this way your guest will share and get to now each other better. Also bean bags sack races, go to Oriental Trading and for less money you will be able to decorate and get prizes for the teams. Fun in a budget, Have your picnic with a theme and base your activities on it.

Musical chairs with the added element of having everyone also play a tambourine to the music IN TEMPO while marching around the available chairs.

Party meetings are important for boosting company morale, encouraging employee relations and celebrating the success of the company. I have attended one of the party meetings at an ecstatic place in Santa Monica mountains and the customized arrangement they provided us was a treat to the heart. Be it the games or the invitations or the food or anything you could name was best arranged. Though I had left the company but I still cherish that memory.

If you're looking for that "just right" musical entertainment, perhaps I can help. My name is Paul Burger and I have been entertaining crowds of all ages and demographics since the early eighties. With acoustic guitar and voice I perform songs spanning five decades of classic rock, blues and adult contemporary hits like James Taylor, The Allman and Doobie Brothers, Bob Seger, Cat Stevens, Johnny Cash. the Eagles, etc... Reasonably priced, not too loud, willing to travel (some). Look me up on Facebook and Myspace

Get an Onsite Pit BBQ to cater your picnic. It attracts quite the crowd (especially the men) and the food is hot off the pit. The smell of smoked foods will surely create the perfect picnic.

I have been performing at corporate events for over 12 years. One thing I always notice is that they are looking for someone/something to bring them together. Often times, they don't know each other and need a show/activity to unify them as a group. I think a comedy show is the perfect thing. I perform a comedy and variety show called the Matt Baker Comedy + Stunt Show. I have broken 4 Guinness World Records and have appeared on America's Got Talent and Last Comic Standing. Take a look at my site www.comedystuntshow.com to see why I am one of the highest rated corporate entertainers on the West Coast.

The setting that you choose should be informal; fun, hopefully involve the ocean. We have had a couple of parties on cruise vessels providing DJ and Karaoke services. Open bar, sea food, appetizers, terrific music and lots of fun!

A stilt walker was at our recent company picnic & he was amazing. He juggled, made balloons, and entertained both the kids and adults. Everyone loved him!

As event photographers, we set up a backdrop either with what is available, ie - small lake, picnic tables, trees - or we bring in back drops. Let the cameras roll, emails are obtained providing a digital image of the fun that took place.

Hire a face painter for the kids!

Hi Tara Brown,

In order to appropriately answer your question I need to ask a lot more questions:
  • What do you hope to accomplish with the customers?
  • What are you selling or marketing?
  • What is your customer profile?
  • What is your budget?
  • Are customers traveling to your event or are they local?
  • What are your customers goals?
My answer would be dramatically different if you are selling home appliances, time shares, surgical equipment, commercial real estate, consulting services, commercial air craft, cosmetics, cleaning supplies, vacations, etc, etc. etc.

If you prefer I can probably be more helpful in a 1:1 Consultation.

You may contact me through my EvenTective listing or my Education By Entertainment web site. No charge for initial telephone consultation.

What are some fun ideas that can be incorporated into a corporate meeting with prospects or customers rather than just having them sit through presentations.

We have an outdoor activity each year for our assoicates and their familys. Last year we did some of the games you see on Minute to Win it. Set up four or five stations and have teams competing. It is a lot of fun, and the childern are able to perticipate. We also had a soft ball game and bingo (with a few prizes for the winner). You may even get one of your assoicates or a family member to DJ for you.

Have you tried making music video's. Each guest takes home a Dvd of the event. They even make special dvd labels for the event. You get to pick a song, put on funny hats or glasses and star in your own video. It is hilarious and and something different. The name of the company is Boppingheads Entertainment and they on this site. They do any party for any age.

me too he's at www.kentsteel.com
he's great as a single or duo and if you can afford his band, they've opened for some big names, we saw them in statesville before foghat.

Guest January 6, 2011
You should check out kent steel he's a one man band, plays everything from Elton John to ZZtop, billie joel to Toto and he's available as a single, Duo and with a full band, better than a DJ we used him for an event as a duo and they rocked!

While I was working/living in south Florida, I started an entertainment company that included Hermit Crab Races. I was the EmCee and had great response from everyone involved. This turned out to be the biggest hit at all of my customers picnics (over 300). Depending on where your event is, you may want to try it.

It has been said but a magician as entertainment is always a huge hit I always find that when I perform for corporate parties that it is always well received, it is generally an 45 minutes to an hour planned for you. It is also a good icebreaker in the form of Walk around or roving magic. During the event. Hope this helps.
