I am getting married in January. I am very excited. It will be traditional to your customs. My elders are helping me in planning the wedding event and I'm so grateful for that. My biggest worry at this point is visiting Bahrain after the Marriage with my wife. My elder brother and gifted us with a tourist visa to Bahrain, Saudi and UAE for honeymoon and to see my uncle in Bahrain who wouldn't be able to come over for the wedding. Visiting the middle east is eating me. I have never been there before. My uncle in Bahrain has sent me a blog with the places to visit in Bahrain. In Saudi, we will just visit Mecca but don't know what to do in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Need to give my wife-to-be the best experience there.

I've been able to get hotel by Market Street and now need to find a venue with food for the Saturday evening or night social at a reasonable price per person. It will be on Saturday, January 20, 2018 and I'd like it to be within walking distance of Market Street. Looking for any suggestions and/or help in getting a venue. Any ideas as to where is best? THANK you for any help! -K

Hi Karen,

I don't know how formal you are looking to go or not, but Prohibition in Charleston is about a 14 minute walk from Market street. They have dining space for up to 100 people and have a great menu and a fun event space.

HELP! Destin, FL Wedding- November 2018
miche2535604 wrote:
Hi! Just wondering if anyone has suggestions for great, cost effective vendors for a November 2018 wedding! We have already booked our house; it's across the street from the beach where the ceremony will be, and the backyard will serve as the reception venue over looking the lake. We have approximately a $6000-$7,000 budget (including taxes, not including tips) left over for the ceremony, reception and coordination of both for 60 guests total. I have looked into all-inclusive companies around Destin, FL and it seems they all fall in the $10,000-$12,000 range for 60 guests, which is impossible for us if we want to have a honeymoon.
Some things we are looking for that need to fall in that range:

-Photography/Videography
-Ceremony w/ everything (officiant, chairs, arbor, music, coordinator, beach set up/break down, etc)
-Reception w/ everything (catering (laid back style like buffet or stations), tables, chairs, additional lighting, cake, cake cutting, possibly bartenders (can do self-serve if necessary), DJ/Master of Ceremonies, coordinator)
*We are supplying our own alcohol and center pieces for the tables as well*

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!

Hi MIchele,

Have you looked into the Event Room yet? I know their rental fee for the overall room for a wedding is around $1700 for up to 130 guests... I do not think they have vendors included in their package, but they may work with local DJs and Photographers. They do offer catering from $15- $25 per person. Here is a link to their listing: https://www.eventective.com/fort-walton-beach-fl/the-event-room-llc-587540.html

Hello everyone!
There must be a proper plan before company outing to make it fun and interesting. It is important to concern on important factors like:
  • Fixing appropriate date so that every member at the company can give time that day because it feels worse to be left-out.
  • Prepare good foods .
  • Inviting employees family can increase the fun at company outing.
  • Choosing right types of games which will suitable for people from child to adult.
  • Focus more on deciding proper venue
Company picnics can be an outstanding part of the year with the right balance of food, fun, and relaxation which can also create a more productive work environment, happier families, birth new friendships, and make everyone thankful for the place they get to serve each day.
Have fun!

Indoor/Outdoor Space?
Hello Eventective Community,

First time user/poster here but really liking a lot of what this site has to offer! I am currently working with some people to produce an event that is a fundraiser for a non-profit arts organization. We have thrown other events like this in the past but are looking to expand the size and what the event offers. Mostly we've done indoor events, but occasionally we'll have private parties in which fire spinning is incorporated. (If you do not know what fire spinning is, it's essentially a dance art that is believed to have originated from the Maori islander culture about 4,000 years ago, in which balls of fire (called poi) are attached to ropes/chains and moved in a flow pattern in accordance with the dance.)

Our challenge is usually finding a venue that will allow these sorts of performances, and also has some indoor space in the event that the outdoor portion gets rained out. If you have this kind of space, we are highly interested in hosting an event at your venue and I would love it if you contacted me! The event production team is happy to provide any documentation you might need, be it legislative/examples of past events/etc.

Thanks and hope to hear back soon!

Choosing a Wedding Venue
jches1649214 wrote:
As a wedding venue, sometimes we are not able to accommodate a bride's request, or size of the reception, when this happens we always make sure to point a bride in the right direction to a facility that fits her or his need.

A few tips we have picked up over the years......
1. Make sure the facility works for the size of your party. If the facility recommends no more than 150 people, and you have a party of 200, they may not be right for you. Otherwise, you might end up without a dance floor, or the tables may be cramped.

2. Read the contract BEFORE you sign. We have had many brides come to us after they have signed a contract with another facility, only to find that they were not upfront or honest about what the contract really states.

3. Check to make sure the facility allows certain decorations, do not assume candle flames, sparklers, tape or tacks are ok.

4. Check your payment deadline. Most facilities will have SOME leeway on the amount of time they give you to pay for your rental, but there is a cut-off date, and we have seen brides searching for a last-minute facility due to payment deadlines with another facility.

What are some of your tips for other brides or party goers looking for a venue?

Here are some great tips for planning a party and finding out which venue would work best with your theme: https://blog.eventective.com/party-planning-101/
We are looking for a ballroom or similar that offers shared parties. They do this is Calgary quite frequently at large hotels and other locations such as event centers. Does anyone know of a location in Vancouver that also offers this? The idea is that several smaller to medium sized groups use the same large area for dinner/buffet and then DJ, etc., to feel like a larger party. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I am trying to plan a vowel renewal on the beach in Camp Ellis and have no idea where to start. Anyone with information would be greatly appreciated.

We would recommend reaching out to officiants in your area to see if one could preform your renewal:
