Alan Hyman is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Eventective.
In 1989, Alan co-founded I-many, Inc. (NASDAQ: IMNY), globally recognized as one of the leading providers of contract and transaction compliance management solutions. As President of I-many, Inc., Alan led the company from a Massachusetts start-up to a multi-million dollar company that became Maine's largest publicly traded software company in 2000, acquiring a market cap of $800M. The company moved to Portland, Maine in 1991.
In 1998 Alan founded JobsInME.com, the Northeast's most successful career resource. Under the corporate banner of JobsIntheUS, the company has expanded into Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Rhode Island. In 2001 Alan founded 480 Digital, a Portland, Maine-based marketing and video and film production company. Alan served as executive producer of the New England Emmy Award nominated production "Portland Past" which has been shown frequently on Maine PBS. Alan is also an experienced restauranteur, having run a successful Cafe in Scarborough, ME.
Prior to I-many, Inc., Alan worked as an independent Systems Consultant for 8 years. He also worked for the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Company, McDonnell Douglas Automation Company and John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company.
Joseph Paster, FSA, CLU, recently retired as Senior Vice President of John Hancock Financial Services. Joe joined John Hancock in June 1967 and during his 37-year career he held several senior positions in product development, service, project management and marketing in both the Retail and Institutional sectors. He is currently Senior Vice President and CFO of John Hancock Signature Services, John Hancock's service subsidiary with over 1,200 employeesand an annual budget over $150M.
Some of his former positions include Vice President and Actuary of Retail Product Development and Pricing for all life and annuity products; Vice President of Managed Care and Group Marketing; Chief Financial Officer of Group Special Services; and heading up strategic planning in Retail Marketing, including development of the Company's overall Retail service strategy. With the recent merger of John Hancock and Manulife Financial, Joe has assumed responsibility for several key integration projects. Joe was a trustee on the board of a mutual fund company where he chaired the Audit Committee. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Chartered Life Underwriter. Joe is currently Secretary of the Board of Directors of CYMRI, Inc (formerly JobsInTheUS.com).
