The new Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies is an extraordinary addition to Chicago’s historic South Michigan Avenue. Designed by the award-winning Krueck & Sexton Architects, the new building features a 10-story faceted window wall that provides absolutely stunning panoramic views of Chicago’s skyline, Grant Park, and Lake Michigan, from almost every room. This versatile venue features state-of-the-art resources and thoughtful amenities — including the 400-seat Feinberg Theater — making Spertus the perfect place for your community or corporate event, training session, or retreat, as well as a unique setting for your wedding, bar or bat mitzvah, anniversary celebration, family reunion, or any gathering of family or friends. Events can also be planned in conjunction with a Spertus exhibition or public program, or be combined with a private group tour of our museum galleries or our building’s innovative architecture. Food plays an integral role in Jewish culture. So it’s only natural that Spertus would partner with Wolfgang Puck Catering to bring imaginative cuisine to this dramatic new facility. At Spertus, Wolfgang Puck and Spertus Executive Chef Laura Frankel draw from both personal and professional experience to bring a deliciously creative twist to kosher cuisine. Dedicated to using only the freshest, highest quality, seasonal ingredients, our culinary team works closely with Chicago’s regional suppliers to create flavorful food for everyone, whatever their culture. Wolfgang’s renowned ‘a la minute’ cuisine and sophisticated service will make your event as special as this spectacular new setting. Both Spertus and Wolfgang share a passion for innovation and excellence, as well as a commitment to ecological sustainability. Their partnership brings outstanding food and warm hospitality to this stunning, environmentally sensitive setting. Wolfgang Puck Catering’s professional full-service staff will work closely with you through every stage of your event, creating menus specially designed for your guests and assuring an impressive, successful result.

The Spertus Institute in Chicago's South Loop provides meeting space that goes beyond the typical Hotel meeting space. The building itself is ultra-modern with clean, white lines inside and glass anc chrome outside. It stands out on the block as distinctive and impressive as a statement of alternative to your meeting attendees. Walking in through the secure, glass doors, you are greeted by security guards who escort you into the cavernous lobby. The lobby is elegant and welcoming. The gift shop is behind glass walls and bustling with color that light up the lobby, providing an immediate atmosphere of sophistication and sincerity. Inside, there is an amphitheatre as well as classrooms equipped with all the modern technological conveniences that make meetings easy and effective. Interactive podiums into which both a Mac and Windows laptops connect with ease include built-in speakers, projectors and screens. Seats are comfortable even for long meetings and facilities are easily accessible and match the style and quality of the building. The surrounding area is bustling with four hotels of varying costs and amenities within a two or three block walk as well as restaurants and dining options. Alternatively, the institute itself will cater your event within certain limitations. Of course, if your attendees are traveling by CTA, there are many bus routes that stop at the corner of Michigan and Balboa as well as the Harrison Red Line just a two-block walk away. Parking, of course is an issue, but that's to be expected for the location. If you are looking to make a statement or just tired of meeting in the same old hotel space, then the Spertus Institute is highly recommended as an option.
