Supported Layouts and Capacities
Mary Margaret's Tea & Biscuit is an English tea house in the antique district of Arcadia, Florida. I like to go there several times a month to relax, enjoy their excellent food and amazing deserts. The restaurant is decorated in Victorian style, and during the week the owners dress in top hats and tails to greet diners. They offer organic tea as well as their own house blend of Mary Margaret tea, which is a white tea with rose and citrus notes. You can purchase their tea by the pot at your table and also loose to take home and enjoy. White tea is finicky though, so make sure your water isn't boiling and you don't steep more than a minute, otherwise it's bitter. Sometimes I go there just for desert. I pretty much order the same one each time - sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream and caramel sauce. I can't pass it up. Every time I go, I think to myself that I'll try another desert, but I can't bring myself to skip the toffee pudding. It's definitely addictive! I love the serene atmosphere and the staff is so friendly it feels like you're family when you're there. They have a banquet room for large groups (which I've not seen yet) and I've heard the Red Hat ladies are quite fond of them. You don't have to dress up to visit the tea room - anyone is welcome, no matter what they wear. But you should bring an appetite; I almost always leave with a goodie bag cause the lunches are so big. They have soups, salads, traditional tea sandwiches, quiche, as well as beer and wine if you don't drink tea (horrors!).
