What a NIGHT! - An Eventective User from Marlboro, NJ

My son recently had his Bar Mitzvah at the Grand Marquis located in Old Bridge, NJ. We decided to have it on a Saturday afternoon in September. Needless to say, it was an incredible day for our little bar mitzvah boy, his parents, and most importantly, our guests. The venue was beautiful and they did all they can to satisfy Matthew on our needs. We invited 200 guests, which is a large amount for a Bar Mitzvah these days and Grand Marquis easily fit everyone nicely. The food was also fantastic! We decided to go with a buffet style dinner and everything was great. We ate penne with vodka sauce, chicken milanese, and lamb chops. I think the guests love our selections! Overall it was such a fun experience for Matthew and I dont think he will ever forget his big day! I will always reccomend Grand Marquis in the future and hope to have more events there eventually. Hope this review is helpful!!

A gorgeous place to have a reception - An Eventective User from Old Bridge, NJ

I recently attended a wedding at the Grand Marquis. When we arrived, our car was valet parked, and we entered the building. We were greeted by staff members who guided us towards the cocktail hour portion of the reception. There were many staff members around in case we did not know where to go. The cocktail hour was in a large ballroom style room, with so much activity in all corners of the room. There were different stations with attendants serving different types of food, including penne a la vodka, sausage, sushi, salads, other cuts of meat, quesadillas, fresh guacamole, and a few bars. The most eye catching part was in the center of the room, a large table piled high with fruits, salads, and a huge array of other types of food. It was huge and absolutely beautiful; this was the first thing I noticed, which says a lot as there were so many stations in the room. There were tall tables around the room, for standing and mingling, and a few seating areas. It looked like there was an outdoor bar, more food, and seating outside, but unfortunately it was raining, so we chose not to go outside. The dining room was just as magnificent. We were seated near the door, and it seemed like all tables had a good view of the dance floor, where the best man and maid of honor speeches were given. There was a photobooth, where guests were asked to take pictures with their loved ones. Two copies of the pictures were printed instantly; one copy was a wedding souvenir for the guest, and the other went into a keepsake book for the bride and group, where the guests wrote messages. The photobooth was an excellent touch. The servers were extremely attentive. I don't think my water glass was ever empty, and the flow of the food was good. In other words, I wasn't left with an empty plate long after I finished each course, but I never felt rushed through my meal. The DJ played a good mix of songs. It was enough to get people of all ages up to the dance floor. There were many current songs, but they were mixed together really well so that it was easy to dance to. This place really exceeded all of my expectations. I knew the bride and groom would have picked a really nice place for their wedding, but I was really impressed with this venue.
