For my sister's baby shower I was in charge of all things floral. I went from one florist to another being shown book after book of pre-arranged bouquets I had seen at dozens of showers, weddings and parties. I had a vision of what I wanted to go along with the color scheme, table size and general theme of the party but struggled to find a florist who would sit down with me and let me try out different options until I found one that fit. She had been to the nursery and garden center to make arrangements for a party and was so pleases with their flexibility and patience. I went in a few days later and describes what I wanted, white and yellow flowers in round glass vases I had already purchased, with some sort of bright green leaves inside the vase, covering the stems. The florist brought out every yellow and white flower in the cooler and brought me back to the garden center to pick out some leaves which she clipped off and threw in for free. She also offered up the idea to wrap some saplings around the inside of the vase to weave the leaves in and out of to help them stay in place. This was the perfect finishing touch and I got endless compliments from the guests on the beautiful centerpieces. I even gave two of them away as game prizes to some very happy guests.
