Perfect venue for entertaining out-of-towners the day before the big event! - An Eventective User from San Rafael, CA

We hosted a wedding eve picnic in honor of the bride and groom for 20 people at the Oregon Zoo in mid-August. The location was inside the zoo on the Cascade Grill Deck, a lovely, shady, quiet space, perfect for a small gathering. The guests came from 7 different states and 3 were kids under 10. It was absolutely the most perfect venue for our group. The guests were allowed to enter the zoo anytime after it opened and explore to their heart’s content. We all gathered at 3PM for a catered picnic buffet and drinks. This was all arranged by Nikki Simmons, (venue ) and Lindsay Person, (catering). I made these arrangements from my home in San Rafael so I was understandably apprehensive about what I was getting us into, in spite of reassurances and hand holding by Nikki and Lindsay. The event was flawless in every way, even better than expected. The guests were thrilled with the venue and we received many compliments on the food. I think the bride and groom were the only people who lived in Portland so this was a perfect way to entertain out of towners the day before the wedding. Of course I took full credit for this successful event, but credit really goes to Nikki and Lindsay at the Oregon Zoo ! Sincerely, Kate Larson

Get Wild for Meetings - An Eventective User from Portland OR

It is easy to overlook the Oregon Zoo as an event venue. The Zoo has multiple meeting areas in their Cascade Creast area that allow you to hold your meeting in a comfortable and cozy location. All of the equipment you need is available for rental. You can also make arrangements to have an animal show during your meeting. Staff goes out of their way to accommodate you and make sure you have everything you need. The only concern is you have to use their catering which can get expensive. But for a cant miss experience you cant get any better then this. Holiday parties here are something extremely special. During Zoo Lights season you can make it a meeting and a Christmas experience.
