I booked the space for my daughter's college graduation party. The director of the center was extremely helpful, and quick to respond. We hosted about 20 people, and there was more than enough room for everyone. I would very much recommend the venue.

The venue is great for small and intimate gatherings. We held an amazing baby shower for 25 people with catering. Using the existing furniture and bringing in just a few more tables - we were able to set up the large room to accommodate the party with room to spare. Great event.

I hosted my husband's retirement open house at Speak and recommend it highly. Christina, the Director, was just wonderful to work with and allowed flexibility in allowing time for set up and clean up. The venue itself is gorgeous with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I received countless compliments from guests. The availability of 2 hours of free parking in the adjacent parking garage was an added bonus. This centrally located venue in Charlottesville made it easy for friends and colleagues from surrounding communities to come and celebrate with us. The counter space provided plenty of room for setting up beverages and food and with a few table cloths and flower arrangements, decorating was done. My husband loved the beautiful photos of Venice that adorned the walls. Not only was the venue perfect for our event, I liked that the rental fees end up supporting a local business with a wonderful mission. We couldn't be happier with our choice of venue.

We hosted a bridal shower for 20 women here. We LOVED it. The facility is clean and had a built-in warm feeling about it. We didn't even have to decorate. There was plenty of space, the kitchen was spotless and roomy as well. I also liked that the kitchen was pretty much concealed so we could prepare without exposing the mess. In addition, Anne, the French language teacher at Speak!, gave a unique and fun presentation of French love expressions and games. This gave the bridal shower a unique twist. I highly recommend Speak! as a party venue for it's quaintness, cleanliness, and location. And the owner, Christina, is super pleasant.
