The green-naped pheasant pigeon is found in hilly and lower mountain rainforests in the western part of New Guinea. Occasionally found in lowlands. They forage for seeds and fallen fruit by walking slowly on the ground.
Canvasbacks, like the male pictured here, are North America`s largest diving ducks. This species weighs in around 2.5 pounds! They can be seen on Pelican Pond during your next visit!

One of our Roseate Spoonbills was participating in a Roaming Encounter when the wind blew her slightly off course. Thanks to the impeccable training and strong trusting relationship our birds have with their care team, she knew exactly what to do. She decided to walk through our Nature Store back to our Bird Show Team waiting just outside the doors. Roaming Encounters happen year-round. You may encounter one or more of our Bird Show Stars walking around the Aviary during your next visit!
