Tired and under appointed rooms, Construction zone

The hotel lobby and check-in is nice. Rooms are TIRED, OLD, and dilapidated. Carpet in my room was very old and worn - featured a nice (!) iron burn (someone dropped a hot iron on the carpet and left a sizeable mark). Good news - they are refurbishing rooms. Bad news - they are doing it comingled with guests using rooms right beside the reno project (rather than shutting a whole floor down to do the entire floor efficiently and quickly). Noisy in the morning and inconvenient. ZERO coffee or mini-bar in room (seriously???). How this hotel can be considered in the same class as a Fairmont is beyond me.

We spent the weekend in New York City, visiting our two daughters, and had a wonderful stay at the Sofitel. The hotel is centrally located, and it made accessing the subway and local areas a breeze. The staff were attentive, and the accommodations were comfortable and quiet. It is the perfect location and hotel for a stay in New York City.

The Hotel is well located and staff was efficient and friendly. The rooms, however, are in desperate need of renovation.

I booked a room with the understanding that I was paying extra to include valet This was not the case I was charged for valet parking everyday The room was not as I expected I was barely disappointed in this particular location as this is the fourth Sofitel I've stayed at

We loved our weekend stay at Sofitel NYC! The hotel is well located but the exceptional staff is what truly sets your hotel apart. Everyone staff member we interacted with, from the front desk to the bartenders to the room attendants were gracious, helpful and professional. We will definitely stay with you again on our next trip to New York!
