If that is all the budget allows I'm sure you'll do a fine job & they'll look lovely. The look has been done however;any way to personalize them to more reflect you? If you want guests to take them home make sure the vases are of a manageable size, and provide bags for carrying.

What I tell the brides I work with, is this is your wedding and reception and you make it how you want. Personally I think this sounds very nice. I like simple yet elegant. A recent wedding the bride took a vase (cylinder), had 1 silk flower with a curved stem, and the crystals in the bottom. She got square mirrors to set the vase on and then added the votives around the base. Elegant, very classy and very reasonable. I just did the centerpieces for a charity event and went with silk flowers (wild colors), beach sand, sea shells and looked great and now they are in my daughter's and my homes.

Flowers are going to be roses and orchords(spelling) and the vases are small round ones. We are on a 1000 budget and having a small 20 person wedding at our apartment. I will be adding some Fuschia ribbon

I think that sounds beautiful! I love it, =). I was planning on putting clear crystals on the tables and a vase with flowers in the middle, xP. (Still unsure of what flowers though, =P).

yeah we are in a small apartment and only having like maybe 10 guests or so. So we only have 1 or two centerpieces. Its a casual affair so we are having a homemade meal and minimal decor.

Would be okay that part of the centerpieces be used as party favors? I am doing a beach theme wedding. And I was going to make my centerpieces with a vase, candle, sand, colored rocks, and shells. I was going to make several big ones and small ones.

What I am doing for my centerpieces is a small glass vase, use natural sand, with either lavendar rocks or ocean blue rocks, sented small voltive candles already in a small jar, and put seashells around the edges of the jar.

Scented candle can be a small problem if you have nose sensitive guests. Try unscented and just place some flowers around for scent. Candles are the worst if they are scented

There are many make your own kits for candles at craft stores or on line. Very simple to make. You can add what ever color you want and don't have to use any scent. Also I found some great candles at Flowerfactory.com. They have local stores also if you do a search for them. They are a supplier of all kinds of party things not just flowers.

I have been to several weddings where they give the center pieces away to the person at the table whose birthday is closest to the wedding date of the bride and groom. It is a lovely gesture.

I think the idea is great. A few suggestions to add some variety would be to use another type of flower. There are elegant centerpieces that use one single slightly over the top flower in a vase as the centerpiece. Another idea would be to use the blooming flower under an upside down wine glass. Love it! You can get really inexpensive roses (markdown) from King Soopers or your local grocery store. They will drop the price on blooms that are past their prime. Depending on the color you are looking for, I got a dozen roses for 4.99 must last week. That's a good number of petals. Also Big Lots has very inexpensive candles, but Michael's sells 100 pack of tea lights for pretty cheap. Congrats on your wedding day.

Oh and the stones.... if you need a big amount water pearls are a more affordable version (if you're putting them in the vases, not around the base) You can dye these with food coloring, I've even done neon colors!

It is a nice idea. Well, at home I have a vase with water beads at the bottom and a hydrangea on top of it. My friends say it was really nice and so I kept maintaining my centerpiece.
