Civil War Ranch
September 5, 2013
Mark Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, on your calendar now for the Grand Opening Celebration of the Civil War Ranch Wedding Barn and Events Center in Carthage, MO.
Owners Chris and Bruce Westwood have spent several months getting the rustic country complex up-to-date and ready to host all types of events, including wedding receptions, birthday parties, family reunions, company parties, church outings, business picnics and even Indoor Speedway Go-Kart racing.
The 73-acre ranch is less than two miles north of U.S. Highway 49’s Exit 55 at 11838 Civil War Road.
Step out of the busy world and into the peaceful setting of The Civil War Ranch and enjoy the natural beauty of the 2.5-acre pond, the Barn Courtyard and make sure you tour the two-story Wedding/Events Barn.
Check out the vendor booths linked to the Civil War Ranch’s Wedding Barn & Events Center: Dr. Fly’s Salon, Sheila’s Photography, Casual Images, Norma’s Inline Fashions, Country Cakes & Bridal Shoppe, and Florette Florist & Greenhouse.
If you need a break or a shaded area to eat your vittles from B&C Catering, Lumpy's BBQ, Rib Crib, Rita's Place and Superior Bakery & Bistro, then pick a table in the Courtyard Pole Barn or find your way to the Pond Pavilion south of the ranch barns.
And don’t forget to do a tethered hot-air balloon ride with Skyway Balloons, and let your kids or grandkids ride a pony or pet the farm animals with Sparkle Pony Rides & Petting Zoo or play in the bounce houses provided by Affordable Party Rentals.
And you’ll want to take the whole family on a wagon ride with J&M Bagby Carriages.
Then relax in the Wedding Barn Courtyard for a full house of entertainment: Civil War Re-enactors (noon), No Apparent Reason Bluegrass (1:15 pm), New Dogs Old Tricks Bluegrass (2:15 pm), Workman Bluegrass Band (3:15 pm), Emily Dowden Band (4:15 pm), Berry Wynn and the Fly By Night Band (5:15 pm), Western Twirlers of Joplin (6:15 pm), Fiddler Nathan McAlister & Kim Lansford (7:15 pm), and Karaoke (8:15 pm).
Whether you’re looking for a fun family outing, a great place to take landscape and nature photos, or want to check out the ranch’s facilities for a perfect Country Wedding, circle Sept. 28 and bring your whole family and friends to Carthage’s newest, biggest indoor/outdoor events complex – the Civil War Ranch.
