Make a list of the things you will need for your event as for example location, dress, flowers etc and search for vendors

Hi Guest,

On January 4, 2011 there was an almost identical posting. There are lots of responses there. Please check it out. The URL is: http://www.eventective.com/forum/topic1540-wedding-in-july-2011.aspx also check out:

Rev Ann Fuller posted a forum a while back which may be very helpful to you: http://www.eventective.com/forum/topic1410-ideas-for-inexpensive-venues.aspx.

Finally, I'd recommend reading through some of the other forums here.

I think you will find the answers to many initial questions.

Come back with more specific questions or contact one of the other planners or myself directly if we can be of help.

Have a great wedding.

Hi there,
We offer a DIY Planner type of package that might be able to assist you - you would still book everything but we put it all together for you (basically anytime you book someone you just fire their info over to us and we organize everything) - we think we can definately help so if you want more info either check out our website or give us a quick email (everything for the DIY is done over email and phone). Best of luck in your planning!

Congratulations! My best advice is to visit your local bookstore or library and hit the wedding planning section. There will be dozens of books on how to plan your wedding, weddings on a budget, etc. They will each discuss where to start, your options for what elements you can include, a timeline for getting things done, etc. Pick the book that seems to have the approach that suits you, take a deep breath, and relax. You can do this!

Good luck with your planning, and best wishes!

You may want to secure your venue first, especially if you desire a specific date in July. Other couples from Montreal have experienced a memorable wedding overlooking Lake George, NY... not too far from you. Check out www.HighlandsCastle.com. And 'Friends of the Castle' can help you with every detail to fit your budget.

I agree, finding your wedding and reception venues is the first thing I would do. Once you have these two venues lined up, you can begin to plan everything else.

You have a great budget.....more than many brides. Start a list. Decide on a theme. Go to your local arts and crafts stores or local Wal Mart. DO THINGS YOURSELF. There are tons of creative and beautiful things that a 10 yr. old child could create to beautify your wedding day. Table settings like flowers in a wine glass floating in colored water. You can buy wine glasses at the dollar store! You do need to set a theme to get things going.

Hey my warm wishes for your wedding and you have a healthy and cute baby. The best plan to do cost cutting is to go for online marketing. Are you planning for any ball dance event or any live music sort of thing. If you wouldn't had any specific location priority then i would have suggested you to look forward to Calamigos Ranch because my cousin had her big day function over there. www.calamigos.com. You can have a look.

Congratulations! There are several approaches to planning a wedding with limited funds:

Strategy 1) Know how to save on wedding products--search online for a larger selection and better price, plus coupons, sales & discounts.

Strategy 2) Start with a wedding plan that includes the budget, who is paying for what, a detailed timeline / checklist, and a way to track spending by category.

Strategy 3) Choose a unique and inexpensive venue. Unique venues--such as farms, unused warehouses, and basements--can be big money savers.

Strategy 4) Decide what type of vendors to hire and find those that fit your needs. Know your own strengths when planning a big event and understand the value & quality each experienced professional adds to your dream wedding.

To creese3636: You might get more of a response if you started your own topic, rather than posting on this one, which has a different focus than yours.

Good luck!
