My 40th b-day is in June. We live in the DFW area. I am looking for ideas to have a great party that is not so expensive. I'm counting about 25-30 people. We are not into bars, and dont want to go somewhere smokey. I want to start planning now. Any sugestions??????

I own an events/promotions company. I am starting a line of pre-packaged events and theme parties. This would inlude bartenders, etc. Right now, I have male/female models, bartenders, and staff. I am working with casino themes, bachelorette parties, etc. If you think of anything and need our services, let me know. Thanks, Ronda 214-223-6000

Hi Guest,

DFW stands for Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. It is also the airport 3 letter code for Dallas-Fort Worth Airport.

Hi SandiBurn,

What do you and your friends really enjoy doing? I'd suggest that you begin planning by forming that list. Perhaps, it is :
  • cooking
  • eating out
  • community service
  • religion
  • games
  • gardening
  • theater
  • concerts
  • observing sports
  • reading
  • playing sports
  • golfing
  • swimming
  • watching movies at home
  • something else.
Form a second list of things you've never done but really want to do.

Once you form your lists think about the resources available in your area that are within budget for each of the top 5 items on your lists. You might come back to this forum once you have the lists of what you like to do and what youl'd like to try for the first time for implementation suggestions. Then make choices.

A second option which might be fun for you and your friends if you are really adventuresome would be to make your theme "Total Surprise 40th Birthday Adventure Party." Hire a creative planner (or some friend(s) to serve as planner(s)). Give the planner(s) your lists of what you like (and don't like) and what youl'd like to try and your budget, and tell them to totally surprise you and your guests. Invitations would read something like "Please come to my 40th Birthday Celebration on (date) at (time). We'll discover together what surprises our planners Sue and Steve have arranged for us.
