Try the Elks and Moose Clubs, VFW halls, park districts, and township -- you should find something affordable through one of them.

My daughter is getting married fall, 2012. We are looking for an outdoor venue, preferably a farm or ranch style with the ceremony amongst trees and grass and then the reception in a barn or similar rite. If caterers are provided that's great if not, we can bring in our own. The area we are looking is from L.A. to Riverside and San Bernadino or Orange and San Diego Counties. We live in Orange County but are willing to drive an hour or two.

Can you tell me what economical means? Here are some questions to consider;
1. location(zip code)
2. Budget
3.Amenities(tables,A/V equipment etc)
I can help you find a place I have a database of venues that start at $20.00 per person or flat rates starting at $1500.00 mtmnlls wrote:

Just give everyone a round about figure of what a venue costs. Venue's can charge per person those charges can start as low $25.00 per person. These venues are the ones at hotels or halls that require you to use their catering and beverage service.
The next one's are the Banquet halls and Reception Hall on average they start at $1500.00 that is just to rent a building. You will need to provide everything.Tables, linen, decorations, entertainment and food.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the idea of VRBO. One question do you know if you would have to have a special agreement/authorization to host a wedding at a VBRO rental site, or since your renting as long as you clean up and protect property just have a wedding affair ? Thanks

Generally they are not concerned about the reason your renting.Because they usually charge a cleaning fee anyway. If you look on the comments that others have left you will find that a lot of people do this for events like weddings. I found them planning my son's graduation a few years ago.
Good Luck and Congratulations!

While requesting or looking for a venue, it may be very helpful to place a location desired or at least a state for all of us that are watching the posts and want to respond. Being a vendor myself, I know how difficult and frustrating it can be when vague messages are being posted

I agree a little more information is very helpful. Other things that might be helpful is budget and how many guests. Indoor or outdoor and responding that would help too. As you can I'm a frustrated vendor too.

Folks, I check every day for responses to my request but what I see the most is people looking for a venue for their wedding without listing the city & state they are looking in. Please remember that this site goes across the country so remember to list your location when posting your request. It will save you and everyone else a lot of time!!!

Guest
Posted on: Jul 23, 2011 at 2:10 AM

It would help if people responded too.Sometimes, I wonder if anyone else is checking back in after posting?

I do check this forum every day, and respond when the requests mention my area or I have something I can contribute to the "conversation". But what Supermom9161 said is so true... we can't help if we don't know where you're looking for a venue.

The more information you can provide in your request, the easier it is for someone familiar with the area to help.

DFW, Texas wedding is 18 months away. I have no idea how to budget appropriately. My fiance and I are paying for everything. Mostly, I need to know how much to expect to pay for catering, reception venue, photographer, and cake. Any additional info would be appreciated as well. We expect around 200 guests and want buffet style catering and budget cake (i.e. have a small "display" cake for pictures and cake cutting ceremony, but sheet cakes cut in the kitchen for the guests). We will NOT be serving alcohol, but do want dancing and probably a DJ.

daisy_dukeluke, head to your local library or book store and pick up a book on planning your wedding. For the price of a book, you get lots of great advice on budgeting, organizing, and executing your wedding. Then start getting quotes from your local service providers -- they can help you determine your budget. Check out your local reception venues, too -- many will have full service packages that will help keep costs down and give you real numbers to work with.

Hope that helps get your started. Best wishes for a wonderful wedding!

I recently had a gathering at Dogwood Pond venue (located off Broad River Rd and Interstate 26) for my sister bridal shower. The venue was nicely renovated and everything was new, clean and in excellent condition.
The bathrooms were clean and totally renovated.
The staff was nice and everything the said and promised they delivered.
I would rent this place again and again and I totally recommend this venue to others.
I give this venue 5 stars!
LOVE IT!

Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. have many great venues and some that are very affordable.
Some recent beautiful venues that I would suggest would be:
Indigo Landing (Alexandria, VA)
Hendry House (Arlington, VA)
and the Oxen Hill Manor (Oxen Hill, MD)
These are great venues! If you would like some additional information or ideas, please feel free to email or call!

Hi Phyllis! I am a wedding designer here in the Atlanta area, and these are just a few of the places that I have come in contact with that are relatively inexpensive in comparison to enormous "VENUES." If they are still out of your price range, let me know, and I can always do a little digging for you! How many guests are you expecting? When is your event date? Budget?

Google these places:
*The Mary Gay House

*Gala Events Facility ($750 rental fee if you're getting married on a weekday!!!!)

*Niche Atlanta or Niche Entertainment

*Loft at Castleberry Hill

Hope this helps! Feel free to give me some more info so I can help you some more!

I'm looking for a inexpensive hall in New York City to have both my wedding ceremony and reception! I would love to have an outdoor ceremony next to a garden, I plan to have about 150 guest attend my wedding on August 22,2013. I would love a venue that will not only include decor/setup/food&drinks/lighting
*IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING IN MIND I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT*

Hello! What is your budget range, and how any guests are you expecting? Which borough of NYC are you looking in?

Let me know and I would be glad to help!

TMonique:
Here are a few tips (and since I am not anywhere NEAR the NYC area...I will have to help you free of charge from Atlanta! ;-))

Start with GOOGLE, it is a bride's best friend! You can find everything from your venue to your planner to your flowers, etc etc etc - on GOOGLE!
Eventective *which you are already on*, is another great place to find vendors and venues in your area.
Something to remember: There are a LOT of venues in your area that offer "in house" wedding planners, and if you choose "their venue", they will be MORE than happy to help you out with setting up EVERYTHING!

But, until then- I will be more than happy to help you a little!

Here are some of the venues that I have found in the Queens area, in your price range, ($60-$80 a head) that are mostly "all inclusive" and beautiful!

*Antun's- www.antuns.com
*Genarro's (Brooklyn) - www.gennaroscatering.com
*Grand Hyatt (Manhattan) - www.grandnewyork.hyatt.com
*The Event Space (Manhattan)- This venue can be found here on Eventective under New York, NY venues.

I will continue looking and let you know what else I find. In the meantime- try going under "venues" here on Eventective to try to find some more! You can also contact me personally through Evenetective, so I can give you my direct contact if you need more help!

Hello "Vancouver/Battle Ground, WA!" I have not been able to find much in the Battle Ground area, but Portland offers a few wonderful places, as does Camas- which are of course only 15-30 minutes from Battle Ground/ Vancouver.
Below are some of those places. What is the budget for the renewal, and how many expected guests? With that info I can possibly find venues that are better suited.

Hope this all helps! Let me know budget & guest count and I can help you more!

Also, here are some helpful websites to find some of the information you seek:

Hi. I'm looking for an all-inclusive wedding venue, where I can be married and have the reception on May 12, 2012. I would like a beautiful scenery and not a hall if I could. I'm looking to have 150 people at the wedding. My area of interest is between Sandusky and Cleveland Ohio. I am hoping to find a great place, costing under $7,000. My last venue didn't work, so now I'm stuck, five months before, trying to re-plan my wedding

Parks, retention basins and unlikely "Halls" are good places to start. We had my daughters wedding in a small art gallery that we rented for $150 and that included Fri night and all day Sat. My company does inexpensive weddings so we have to be creative! A small dance studio might rent you space or a Karate studio. Good luck! Nancy from SanTanWeddings.com

That's a pretty big area... can you narrow it down a bit? North side? In the city? South side? Nearby suburbs?

Here are a couple of links you can check out:

Charleston, SC has the beauty of natural setting like the beach. The beach is FREE. But, what might not be known is that most counties have the public parks and recreation departments. Our parks here in Charleston, SC are incredibly affordable compared to high-priced hotel and other venues. Our parks have cabin rentals with full kitchens, stage and huge seating areas with tables. It is fantastic! If your city/county offers this, plan an indoor/outdoor wedding and/or reception. Make it a late afternoon to evening affair. Put out tiki lamps for romantic lighting + bug control! You can easily end up with a very beautiful setting. We will be happy to help you plan your Charleston Beach wedding or other locations for your perfect wedding. We have over 25 years of professional experience and beach weddings are our specialty!!

I'm looking for a wedding venue in springfield/branson MO area. I'd like to have the ceremony and reception close or even at the same place. Afternoon or evening. Approximately 150 guests. Preferably indoor. I would like to keep it under 1,500.
If you know of any churches that would be good I am open for that seeing as they are usually a little more affordable. I am open to suggestions! Thanks.
