PORTLAND OREGON AND SURROUNDING AREA. I am looking for a venue from 800 to 1200 dollars with a garden to have a wedding in and a reception hall or space for 100 people. I am looking in the portland area but will travel for a beautiful place. catering is not necessary, but we may look into it if it is offered. Please help me find a place to have my dream wedding. outside area does not have to fancy, it can be a wooded park or field, just outdoor

Florence City Hallis a nice venue to rent. I had my daughters 35th birthday party there and was able to decorate and bring in all of the food and liquor. pretty reasoable and nicely decored.. There is a smaller room for about 60 persons and a larger one for receptions, etc. located in Florence area, just below the Mormon bridge in Omaha NE.

well if anyone is in the ct area then you guys could rent out the radisson hotel or a holiday inn or even the casino or there is a nice buffet of chinse that you could rent out in unscaville ct. or the seahorse or floodtide in ct. I hope that helps you out a little

Alternatively, can one rent space at FDR or Vanderbilt in Hyde Park?
Also, you could check out the parks in Ulster County right across the bridge.

I am located in Southern Maryland so locations near Waldorf, Clinton, Hyattsville, Bowie, Oxon Hill, Upper Marlboro, etc. would be great! I am flexible with the dates, but would prefer 5/21/2011 (alternates are 6/4 and my least preferred option is 5/28). I'm planning a high school graduation for my daughter and I'm looking for a room to rent or a hall for approx 75-100 people. Would like informal. Haven't decided if I'm going to do outside catering, inside catering or bringing own food. Event is for next year, July 2012 so I have time to plan. This is my problem: we live in Buffalo, NY and I'm planning the party in the Los Angeles area so I have to rely on friends and recommendations on forums for places. Would like to do my own decorations. Any help appreciated.

Hello! I am looking for a simpl venue for my 30th b-day party. It is on Dec 28th (its a Wed night) from probably 7-11 or so. Probably about 50 ppl. I already have food and entertainment. I will need a sound system to play music, but already have the music and a DJ. It is a luau theme and there will be dancing. So I will need some type of dance floor. Thanks for the help in advance!

The bridesmaids planned a shower in Raleigh that was cancelled due to Hurricane Irene.I am the bride's mother and would like to locate a party location (room rental) and supply my own bar/food supplies,if possible.Open to ideas and the option of paying per head for after dinner fare/bar/wine/beer. The wedding itself is on May 27th.It is my daughter's preference to plan the shower around the extended families getting to meet each other a few months ahead of the wedding,since they live as far north as New York and south to Florida. We are a local group (not 501c3 yet) that connect online and hold get-togethers throughout the year. We are looking at the weekend of 02/11/12 preferably or the weekend before. She wants a nice party with the biggest request being a room/suite/lounge with a view of the skyline. So party room, preferably in a hotel, needs to be on higher floors. She has her own DJ. Try your city's community center or even the Chamber of conference. You might have to clean up after yourself, but it's worth it. With having a party for your friend, the Marine, they might even give you a discount.

I am looking to rent a Room on the water in San Diego for our upcoming July Wedding, that allows us to bring our own Catering, Photography etc. All of the places we looked want to charge an arm and a leg per person when we already have Food, Alcohol, photography and even DJ at our Disposal for Free. I am looking to rent a place to have a party for my son. He is going to the Navy July 2nd and I want to have a going away party. I am looking to rent a place near Milan, TN. for about 4 or 5 hours. It doesnt have to be beautiful but I need a place that a DJ can set up. There will be a combination of teens and adults. I would like to be able to have alcohol for the adults. I dont need catering and I already have my DJ picked out.

there is a place near weston/st.clair. they supply a 3 course catered portuguese meal with open bar for only $35/head.
os pipas... they are called. festiflor. they also have an etobicoke location that is larger. all you will need is decor.

I am on a very limited budget and I need to have a sweet sixteen party for a very special young lady. She is doing wonderful in her school and in in the IB program Duval County has here. I am on very limited means at this time of my life and I know that someone out there knows of a place that we could hold a very special occasion for her, but I don't have 400-1000 dollars to spend on a room to rent. She wanted to have a bonfire on the beach with about 75-200 friends, but I told her that would not be permitted in duval county. Is there anyone out there that knows where I could rent a hall that would allow us to bring our own food. Her Dad is the very best cook and I can not afford a chief to cater the event. I would greatly appreciate any and all help on this from anyone that would know of a nice clean place in the middle of Jacksonville because she goes to one of the advanced studies schools here in town and the children are bussed in from all over the town. Once again, I would greatly appreciate anyone that could help us get the place pinned down so we could start working on all the other details.

Check with your local parks and recreation department. They usually have facilities and recreation centers available to rent. Also check with your local Senior Centers that rent out their facilities or Masonic Halls/Lodges. Lastly, consult with a local event planner that specializes in children's parties...he/she may have some great/unique ideas. Hope this helps.

Wow there's a lot of you needing help with parties! I am an event planner with The Dolce Design, and I am happy to speak with anyone about planning an event/researching vendors/etc. We are a nation-wide firm, so we are available at most of the locations mentioned in this thread.
Some general advice: start with a budget! Plan your budget before researching venues and other vendors so that you know exactly how much you have available for each. Then after deciding on a general theme, start looking for venues. Don't be afraid to ask questions when you are touring a venue (catering policies, DJ/music policies, alcohol policies, associated fees, what the venue can and can't provide, etc).
Please feel free to contact me, and I'd be happy to give you advice or answer any questions that you have. I've been an event planner for several years, and I have planned at least a couple hundred of events so I'm happy to help!
