Have you attended, sponsored or led a corporate event which you would consider to be highly educational as well as a lot of fun? If so, would you please describe the event, when the event occurred, what made it highly educational and what made it a lot of fun.
Many thanks!!!

August of 2009, I attended the Santa Fe Workshops in Santa Fe NM. I had a great time! The class was heartfelt and full of energy and emotion. It was a photography class with Master Photographer Joe Buissink, who enjoys what he does. What made it so wonderful was the class was hands on and Joe guided us rather than instructed us. After each shoot, we held a class critique the next day and oooh, awed, and boo'd what the student presented to be our best shots. At the end of the workshop, we had a dinner with the entire school and a slideshow was presented with our greatest and most meaningful shots. It was touching to see our own work on the screen as well as see the work of others. I left with tears of joy and emotion and am looking forward to returning.

Hi Carla,

Thank you for posting your comments on the photography class led by Joe Buissink.

It appears that the elements of the class which made it really stand out included:
  • Facilitation. Hands on taking of pictures in which Joe helped you do what you wanted to do (but a bit better) rather than telling you what to do.
  • Peer Review. Obtaining peer review on your photos
  • Producing a meaningful end product. Seeing your work (and that of others) in the final product of the workshop (the slide show at the concluding dinner.
Let us see what others may post here. Thank you.

As 2011 draws to a close, please think about those corporate events which you attended, sponsored or lead. Would you consider one or more of them to be highly educational as well as a lot of fun? If so, would you please describe the event, when the event occurred, what made it highly educational and what made it a lot of fun.

Many thanks!!!
