Our vintage chapel is complete with stained glass cathedral windows, crystal chandeliers, organ pipes and a balcony. Generally our wedding ceremonies are traditional and we have worked out all of the classic cues and entrances, providing for a smooth operating ceremony, without a hitch. (seriously, the pun was not intended.) However, some of our brides are less traditional and provide their own music, having a Country or even a Star Wars theme. More so, we have had brides dress as Zombies, or Victorian Steampunk, which I love. One of our greatest surprises came at the end of a very traditional, Christian wedding when the entire wedding party, including the minister, broke out doing the popular video version of the Harlem Shake. The guests, and I, although in on it, were very surprised and enjoyed this memory making moment tremendously. Weddings that personalize, and stray from the traditional are those that are the most memorable. This does not necessarily mean that you have to stray far from tradition, but to risk adding that personal, intimate, "this is who we are and what we do for fun" aspect can be most satisfying. These are the moments that live on even when not captured by your photographer.
Best wishes on your wedding planning. Ardene, Owner/Operator At The Olde North Chapel, Richmond, Indiana
