I was married on 10/10/10, good thing with that was it was a sunday so things were cheaper. to cut cost i did my ceremony and reception all at same place so i didn't have to use 2 venues. at $2000 it can be done. venue will be most expensive but you should be able to find something around $500. don't use a DJ, use your own sound system and cd. if you are having a reception you do not have to serve a full plated meal, most gets wasted anyway so serve finger foods. if you are not having a reception then spend more money on the ceremony. decorate yourself, i got all my stuff at crafts 2000 for under $200, it was beautiful. try to find a free wedding officiant, most will charge, as i do too if you need a minister, contact me!

Where is your event taking place? Are you wanting a formal or informal wedding? If you are in Texas I know quite a few venues under $1000...just let me know.

Whether this is a realistic budget or not depends entirely upon where you are located, how large your guest list is and your vision for your wedding. The good thing is you are starting early. If 11/11/11 is anything like 10/10/10, it's going to be an extremely popular wedding date.

Best value halls are through the county and municipal parks & recreation departments, civic centers, fraternal lodges and places that don't normally host weddings that might appreciate a little extra income. For example, I have officiated weddings at a bowling alley, zoo, nursery (the plants for sale made a naturally gorgeous backdrop) and natural history museum. Think creatively and you might discover a place that will let you have your wedding there for free just to get the exposure and experience.

You might try looking at this page to give you an idea of what types of venues are available. But again, where you are is going to make a big difference in the types of venues you have to choose from. http://brevardminister.com/brevard_options.htm

First of alll, what part of the country are you located. That makes a big differance. I agree with the last person that wrote. Look for some kind of community hall, KC Hall, VFW, ior American Legion. You can do a buffett with family supplying allot of the food. I do recommend you absoutely hire a DJ. The DJ can make or break the party. He cooridinates all the events during the wedding and makes sure everything runs smoothely. If the DJ is the only vendor you hire you will be spending you money wisely. Be creative with decoration. Go to the dollar store and look around. The have lots of stuff that will work for decoration. If you more help feel free to call or email me directly.

Check with your State parks around maybe they might have something, Also if you have like a Moose Lodge if you become a memmber of the lodge you will be able to get it for like $275 We just found that out. Dollar Tree stores have alot of nice things, Michaels has alot of things with in Reason also exp: invitations 50 for like $39 and you print them out yourself. Ask around with your locals and maybe you might know a dj and didn't realize it and they will cut you a break.

Hope some of these ideas help out

Have you considered outdoors such as on a beach or a public park?...then having the reception at a restaurant or a private home. This is how a professional event planner provides you with the experience and knowledge to fit your budget and help you to have a special occasion to always remember.

In Florida, November is ideal for outdoor Weddings. Review your Local County Parks and State Parks where you can easily have an elegant ceremony in the garden, then a reception under the pavilion. In a relaxed environment, many guests are more comfortable and enjoy themselves and your Wedding more than in a formal atmosphere. For ideas, see locations at the bottom of this page: http://www.oursimpleceremony.com/cost.htm I believe you will also find this to be budget friendly.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! This is an exciting time for you and your fiancee! A wedding for $2,000 can be pulled off with creative effort! Focus on finding a venue where you can bring your own caterer or food try a local community center, lodge or if you have a friend or a family member with a beautiful landscape backyard. Dollar store items can be used to create some wedding fabulous! Save money by emailing your invitations, try the website evite.com, they have wedding invitations for free! and it can also help you manage your RSVP list. Your wedding is on an Friday, so light appetizers or just cake in punch are great options. If you are located in the Inland Empire, California area we can chat about your wedding day, I know a few venues that can fit your budget.

Happy Planning!
