If budget is an issue, there are so many resources for planning information that can help organize the planning schedule, it may be worthwhile checking this no cost option. If you are having your wedding reception at a venue, many come with party planners to assist. Knowing the type of person you are, you are the best judge as to the value a planner will have.

I agree hiring a planner is very important (and not just because I am one). Many of us offer levels of service so you can do consultations or guidance if you do not want full planning or onsite coordination. This is what we do all the time. When we are not working on a wedding, we research, keep learning on trends etc., and network. The networking is key. Our pool of experienced vendors expands and we can get you the best prices for top notch people based on those connections. We know what needs to be done and most importantly we make sure it gets done.
Before you say I cannot afford one, talk to a few - many of us will work within your budget.
