We're looking to do a Once Upon a Time theme for the party so would love to hold the party somewhere vaguely thematic. Anyone know of any fun restaurants or venues that may work? Won't be a lot of kids attending- 5 max and mostly adults.
When planning a party -- whether that be a birthday party, family reunion, or employee celebration -- don't forget to budget for some fun activities and entertainment.
Make sure you don't spend too much on a venue and catering, leaving you too little for activities and entertainment!
That's where the Civil War Ranch in Carthage, MO, can help!
The ranch events complex is nestled in an amazing country setting and offers various packages at prices that won't break the piggy bank or your budget -- leaving plenty in the budget for some fun activities and/or special entertainment.

And check out the ranch's list of carnival-type games and lawn activities for your party needs.
They include: Ring Toss Games, Wood Milk Bottle Toss, Bean Bag Toss, Potato Sack Races, Wooden Bowling Game, Ladder Bolos Toss, Courtyard Giant Beach Balls, Courtyard Playground Balls, Disc Tic-Tac-Toe, Lawn Twister, Bobbing for Apples, Donuts On A String Game, Painting on Easels, Cowboy Tents Party, Wanted and Reward Cowboy Photo Board, Pioneer Tin Cans on Strings Ball Toss, Nature Scavenger Hunt, Rubber Duck Ring Toss, Giant Bubble Wand and Mix, Rubber Horseshoes Game, Cranking Cannon Game, Rainbow Parachute Games, Candy or Balloon Giant Slingshot, SkyCatcher Launch & Catch, Mini-Frisbee Golf, Giant Wood Tumbling Towers, Giant Pickup Sticks, Children’s Badminton, Tennis, Volleyball, Giant Bounce Pods, Giant Garden Checkers, Giant Dominoes, Giant Scrabble Game.

Other treats, specialty games and activities that you can reserve for your upcoming party or event include: Popcorn Machine, Cotton Candy Machine, Snow Cone Machine, Party Pinata and Treats, Ranch Regulation Volleyball, Regulation Horseshoes, Balloon Artists, Balloon Clowns, Face-painting Costumed Characters, Magicians, Pony Rides, Petting Zoos, Carriage Rides, Wagon Rides, Inflatable Sumo Wrestling Suits, Inflatable Bounce Houses, Inflatable Bounce, Climb and Slide Combos, Inflatable Wet and Dry Slides, Inflatable Obstacle and Slide Combos, Inflatable Velcro Wall (including two Velcro suits), Mechanical Bull Ride, Inflatable World of Sports (five attractions in one), Redneck Tree-Log Game, Revenge of the Sea Pirate Ship Swing Ride, Kids’ Trackless Train Ride, Photo Booths, Tethered Balloon Rides, Fishing in Ranch Pond, Fireworks Over Ranch Pond, DJ Services, Photographers, Fiddlers, Bluegrass Bands, Cloggers, Square Dancers, and Singers. .

When looking for the right size of venue for your party at the right price, consider the ranch's four venue packages that are priced to meet anyone's budget. They include:
1. The two-story rustic Events Barn with two banquet rooms, modern climate-controlled restrooms, and a food-preparation kitchen; large grassy Barn Courtyard that is perfect for all types of games and activities; large shady Pole Barn that is ideal for outdoor activities and dining; and the ranch's spring-fed, 2.5-acre pond.
2. The large grassy Barn Courtyard that is perfect for all types of games and activities; and the large shady Pole Barn that is ideal for outdoor activities and dining.
3. The Speedway Cafe' in the Civil War Ranch Indoor Arena is a smaller venue (ideal for groups of 50 or fewer). Included in the package is a grassy area under a grove of trees next to the Speedway Cafe'.
4. For large-scale events, consider booking the Indoor Arena or even the whole 73-acre ranch complex.

If you have more questions, contact Chris Westwood at the Civil War Ranch via email, chris.westwood@civilwarranch.com, or call her at 417-237-0771.
Also, check out the ranch's website at www.civilwarranch.com or on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/CivilWarRanch
Hi Josh,
We are based in Dallas and Little Rock and do travel. We offer dj entertainment, full photography, videography, amazing photo booths, décor lighting, and wedding coordination.
There's no one in Shreveport that does what we do. I've taught the interactive wedding seminar at the national dj convention. have my BS in Event Management, am a Certified Wedding Consultant, have been an adjunct professor of Special Events, and more importantly bring a ton of ideas to the table based on your goals and personalities that will help motivate and create a better reception that will look amazing and get your guests more involved. This effects how late guests stay and how involved they get, the photography, the video, and what everyone will remember.
It starts with a few minutes on the phone so I can find out more about what you had in mind for everything. Thanks and look forward to speaking with you.

Wedding is something from which we expect a lot of fun. And DJ does exactly that, not only for the couple but also for the guests. And professional DJ services it's not just about the music, it's the ambience created by the combination of music, lighting, and the DJ.

I'm looking for a place to rent for my 22 birthday party!!!
Straight from Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Fat Tuesday is the perfect place to go for fun in Tempe. On Mill Avenue, we are convenient to Downtown Tempe Offices, ASU and Sun Devil Stadium.

Fat Tuesday is proudly the longest standing entertainment venue on Mill. Since 1991 we have been serving great drinks, great food and great fun in a colorful, upbeat atmosphere. Our specialties are our Fat Tuesday Frozen Daiquiris and authentic New Orleans style food. The menu does have classics such as cheeseburgers, chips and salsa and wings... and we have a full service bar for those who prefer martinis, margaritas, and other non frozen drinks. All of our new event menus are fully customizable.

You can get away from the office for a lunch meeting, and for late night, there is usually a party going on. Birthday Parties, Bachelor/Bachelorettes, Graduation, Company Holiday Parties, ASU Sports Parties... We do it all! Watch the world go by on Mill Avenue's premier patio, or dance the night away inside.

Ditch the stuffy hotel conference room and let us take care of the details for your next office get together or private party. We'll make it special, and make sure YOU can sit back & enjoy the party. We accommodate parties from 20 - 300 guests. Call or email our Events Coordinator to book your party today!

New York Wedding Venue HELP.
Has the wedding day passed?
Looking for a room at a venue to hold somewhere between 50 & 75 people. The ideal room would be in or around Birmingham or Homewood, have a large television (or two or three), a couple rectangle tables to hold the food and several round tables and chairs for guests to sit at. Nothing too expensive to rent out for about 3 hours on a Saturday to watch the football game and celebrate the newly engaged couple. Additionally, we would prefer to bring in our own already cooked food and alcohol if possible. Thanks!

Hi All,

I am hoping to get some suggestions/ideas from people who have had experience planning their wedding from out of town. My fiance and I currently live in Seattle, WA but we are having our wedding in Atlanta, GA. (All family and friends are there)

Budget: $10K (Ideally this will include EVERYTHING associated with the wedding...dress, food, venue, photography, and etc.)

Date: August 15, 2015

Bridesmaid and Groomsmen: 10 (5 each)

Guest: 120-150 people (around 20 under the age of 21)

Ceremony: At a church Reception: Somewhere indoors

Must Haves: Full meal for the guest, photography and videography (for both the ceremony and reception), alcohol (maybe for at least 1 hour? then switch to cash bar?), professional hair and make up, decorated and customized space, DJ (for the reception at least)

Ideally: Having a photobooth or something similar for the guests

I am not opposed to having a wedding planner at all, in fact that would take a lot of stress off. However, the few wedding planners I spoke with all told me if I want to have a decent wedding I have to up the budget...I would love to but can't (current grad student = lots of loans).

I am planning on going to GA at least 2 weeks prior to the wedding. Maybe this will be enough time to DIY something and save on costs?

Looking forward to hearing awesome ideas smile

It may be possible but it will be easier if you can either decrease your guest count, increase the budget or change the date to a Friday or Sunday. Have you already chosen the church? The choice for the reception venue (which needs to be in close proximity to the church) and catering will determine if your budget is realistic because those are two most expensive costs, closely followed by the photography. I specialize in helping budget conscious brides, give me a call for a free consultation and I can try to help you. 770-695-7526 www.sashajevents.com

all inclusive wedding
I am getting married August 29, 2015 and I was wondering are there any places that offer all inclusive wedding and reception packages for $7000 in the Gwinnett area of Georgia with a reasonable deposit amount?
If you are considering using video for your upcoming wedding, here are 10 good reasons to check us out.
KMc Video Productions is an award winning video production company serving the greater Chicagoland metropolitan and northwest Indiana areas. Our company offers 30 products and services that provide a wide range of video production packages to serve the corporate, non-profit, wedding, live event, and general family markets.

Here are 10 reasons why you should consider KMc Video Productions as the video services vendor for your wedding day and you to can be a part of what we call "The Chicago Wedding Video Experience".

1.) EXPERIENCE: We have provided full time value based video productions services to the greater Chicagoland and northwest Indiana areas since 1993.
2.) FLEXIBILITY: We offer twelve (12) wedding packages starting at $395.00 and twenty (20) wedding upgrades to customize the wedding video to your needs. Customers have a full selection of camera formats, post-production & DVD authoring options along with DVD and Blu-ray duplication solutions. We also can design and duplicate the DVD wedding album covers and DVD media. All of this gives us the ability to offer customers the kind of finished video that matches their vision, their budget, and their personality.
3.) HIGH PRODUCTIONS STANDARDS: This is one area that is not fully considered by many customers. We have knowledgeable professionals applying attention to detail skills; this can make all the difference.
4.) EQUIPMENT: High-resolution 3 CCD cameras and broadcast level post-production are combined to provide you with a finished video that will exceed your expectations. The choice is yours, standard definition digital cameras, ENG class digital cameras, or Hi-definition cameras. You can select the format that best meets your needs.
5.) THERE ARE NO SURPRISES: With our company, starting with the product information you receive, right up to the contract - all terms, conditions, and responsibilities are clearly defined and laid out in writing. So there are no surprises.
6.) CONVENIENT SERVICE: Planning your wedding can be a time consuming and stressful process. Our service reps will come to you at a time that’s convenient and fits your schedule to help ease that stress.
7.) BACK-UP EQUIPMENT: Even in the best of situations the unexpected can happen that will require some back up.
8.) WE SEEK OUT CUSTOMER INPUT: We have a formal pre-production process that gives bridal couples the opportunity to set the direction and shot priorities of the video.
9.) A PROFESSIONAL DRESS CODE: For weddings, we have a standard dress code for our camera people that includes wearing dark blue or black dress pants, coordinated pastel dress shirt, a business style tie, and dress shoes.
10.) WE NEVER USE UNMANNED CAMERAS: In general an unmanned camera is unable to track action as it unfolds, and with some exceptions can’t be adjusted for close ups, or react to that unexpected “Kodak” moment.
A good place to start is with information so we invite you to visit our web site at www.kmcvideoproductions.com or call us at (773) 924-8452.

WEDDING VIDEO TIPS
We want to thank all of you for your interest in this post. There is a retail company serving the Chicago area and their message is a simple one "An educated consumer is our best customer". We believe that many problems between wedding vendors and customers could be prevented by using this philosophy.

In an effort to make this post an even more valuable resource we will periodically be updating our post with video tips from our newsletters. There are ten tips in this series and it is our hope that you will find them helpful.

For your wedding day there is no other preservation medium that can match professional video production as a tool for bridal couples to relive their wedding day memories. You don't have to take our word for it, here are some facts from an industry survey tracking brides after their wedding day by Breakthrough Marketing, Inc.

· 60% of the brides that did not have their wedding captured on video at all had second thoughts and regretted their decision not to have their wedding videoed.
· 49% of the brides that used a friend or family member to video their wedding said if they had to do it all over again that they would hire a professional.
· 79% of the brides agree that future brides should at least consider using a professional to video their wedding day.

In the coming weeks we will endeavor to make bridal couples better educated consumers with practical, technical, and out of the box suggestions so that they will have a better understanding of the video process.

VIDEO TIP #1: Treat professional wedding videography services with the same level of importance as professional wedding photography services.

Have a vision of the kind of images you want captured before, during and even after your wedding day. We always communicate to our wedding customers that the wider the variety of wedding related images covering the total wedding experience the better the wedding video. Today's video production companies offer a plethora of related wedding video services, not only for the wedding day itself, but pre and post wedding timelines can be captured by your video company. The better the wedding video the more likely that same wedding video will be cherished and replayed 10, 25, and even 50 years later.

The first step in having a wedding video that can be cherished and enjoyed for years to comes is having a vision and a plan to match that goal.

Visit our web site at www.kmcvideoproductions.com if you want to find more information.

Idea for 13th bday party
I am trying to find something for our dghtr who is turning 13. Do not have a crazy budget-want to stay at $500 or under. If I could keep it to 5 or six friends, I could easily pull off a great creative thing AND stay under budget- but this is difficult as the girls I would pick (as closer with parents) are not necessarily who she would, so probably need to open it up to bigger numbers.

Time of year; February. Bowling is out, (done this year) mall scavenger hunt out (also done). Doing something at home would be difficult for larger group as currently renovating.

Thought like a photo shoot, make-up idea, but only prepackage I can find seems geared more towards younger girls, and would rather it be more relaxed than having to stick to strict time limits. To put the package together myself, would need to find a space that is affordable enough to allow for the purchase of all the supplies which isn't a bland room in a rec center or something ...

Any suggestions? Am I trying to get too much for too little?

Due to logistical matters -- LIU pulled out of the agreement 1 day before our event was to occur. We were forced to cancel our event and postpone it until November 13, 2013. We really are in dire need of a venue. If anyone out there knows of a cheap venue or FREE venue I would most appreciate hearing from you. We really need this ball to occur on November 13th.
