How about getting married by a court judge or a local wedding officiant? Then offer 30+ of your friends and family (or less) a great time to enjoy the afternoon by having a bbq or backyard party at your place. The music can be from your own portable mp3 or CD player. Your "wedding dress" could be as simple as a white or eggshell formal from a consignment shop. His "tux" could be as practical as a shirt and tie; with loafers.
Just like a neighborhood party on a warm summer evening; you don't need to go all out and spend a fortune enjoying your wedding day.

I'm looking for new options. I would like something similar to Katmandu. It was a combination of indoor/outdoor seating, with a big screen for a slideshow. They had a pool and a sound system for music. I would like the outdoors, but need indoor just in case of bad weather. I have family from out of town coming. Should be about 30-40 guests.
Locating the right venue for your event is essential for the success of your meeting. Ascertain your meeting event needs e.g. display space, Audio Visuals, food & refreshment service etc. can take up quite a bit of room and planning ahead will take the pressure off.
Your attendees comfort is essential and a cramped meeting room can be counter productive.
If you're using audio visual equipment, have your AV provider meet you at the venue for a walk through, this will eleviate the possibilty of problems during your meeting and you will have an ally in your AV Service to work through issues.
A meeting room's location within a hotel or conference center is vital. Convenient location to Restrooms, Business Centers and other locations can save substantial time. Many hospitality centers are very large buildings and time can be wasted as attendees travel from far away restrooms and other facilities.
Hotel service response is another important aspect of your meeting's success. are the venue services timely ? Are they helpful and engaging ?

The event will be from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Set-up will occur in the morning prior to the opening of the event at 10:00 am. I am estimating that a minimum of 2000 to a maximum of 3000 square feet of space will be fine. We will place exhibitor tables against the perimeter of the space (the displays will be table-top in nature). The exhibitors will have products that are all related to virtual and augmented reality, especially as it all relates to social media and the ways in which we all are connected (more and more) and how everything we do is tracked and monitored in some way by the new “gadgets” that are becoming part of our everyday lives.
There is a possibility that if one of the exhibitors would like to sponsor a Lunch & Learn, then we will also need space for that event. This would entail a small stage area with projector and screen, tables and chairs and we can make the menu as simple as boxed lunches so that those who wish to attend and participate simply grab their box lunch and take a seat. And then at the conclusion of the event, if one of the exhibiting companies would like to sponsor a reception, we can have beer & wine for an hour (5:00 - 6:00 pm).
In terms of attendance, we are estimating 200 people on a flow basis. The entire group will not be present all day, there will be people coming and going, visiting with exhibitors, taking part in demos of the products, or attending the Lunch & Learn.
