you can do a theme specific to the kind of music you like to play. perhaps lady gaga or beyonce are your favs - you can do a divalicious 17 party and have your friends wear long wigs, flashy or sequined clothing. you can serve specialty drinks, like "the pink lady" , "chocolate diva" or the "cranberry queen" and ask your parents to ask a bartender to make up these drinks without alcohol. get some groovy, funky martini glasses to serve them in. you can decorate the room with a lot of different colored stones, bling, leopard table cloths with centerpieces made out of hot pink or other bright colored feathers. you can have a photographer do a pre-shoot, prior to your event, and have posters of you and our best gals "vogueing" and singing with fake microphones. you can hand out kooky hats, feather boas and feathered masks to your guests. for party decor and ideas, log onto: www.orientaltrading.com they are inexpensive and you can really wow your party goers with all kinds of razzle, dazzle.

good luck and if you need more ideas or want a planner, drop me a line. i can design your materials for you like invites, thank you cards, posters and other goodies.

take care and best!

If you don't care very much...it works really well to choose a color or a couple of colors. A Black and White party or something. That way people wear their own clothes, no cheesy costumes, but there is a party like atmosphere with everything in Black and White! You can be really different and choose outlandish color schemes instead...or have a plaid party...something along those lines.
