Do a search for Anns Wedding Bargains on the internet. They offer high quality "send and seal" invites that have your info printed on high quality stock. You can use this as both your wedding invite and add reception info to it. This way you don't have to buy separate reception cards. You fold them, seal them and mail them. They do offer other invites, but overall, I feel they are the best deal in town. Vistaprint offers nice quality "flat" invites in an over-sized postcard style. But unless you are good in designing and have good concepts, this can be tricky. But do check them out. However, their "wedding" invites are not very formal. So, use the over-sized postcard invites (you can write on both sides) and upload a family crest or initial design to make it more personal. You should order a PDF before you order them and show them to someone who has an idea about these things. Don't buy your envelopes from them, however, as the quality is not great. Do invest about $15-20 in a vellum envelope from your local paper/stationery store, staples or office supplier. You can get some in beautiful colors. I would recommend ivory which is the classic color.

Best of Luck!

Be sure to request a FREE sample from Vista Print prior to ordering to see if their quality matches your expectations. Their prices can actually be more expensive once shipping and handling, addressing, response cards, etc. has all been purchased. I have had many brides come to me after purchasing save the dates from vistaprint as they were not happy with the quality.

I would be more than happy to send you free personalized samples. We have DIY kits Invitation Kits, Bargain Invitations, and Deluxe Invitations to accommodate any budget as well as offer quantity discounts!

We currently are having an invitation give away sweepstakes you can enter for free at http://invitationsofelegance.com/giveaway.htm

Well that all depends on if YOU are a do-it-yourself type or not. If you want to do it and can do it well...go for it.

If you have a certain vision of what you what and your budget allows it get that.

Just an FYI...the invitations on Costco, at 25% off, are eInvite which is Checkerboard. There are some that are eInvite that I cannot discount, but most are Checkerboard which I will discount at 30% off. I look forward to hearing from you. invitationsbydeborah.com has a wide selection and it's not interactive because I give you personalized service by phone or e-mail. You get 30% off most invitations from what's listed. I'm pretty sure that costco wouldn't be less expensive and I know they wouldn't give you advice and help. Please contact me and I will be delighted to help you achieve the perfect invitation at a price you can afford.

There are some excellent vendors who create invitations or you can go to www.costco.com. They have a section dedicated to invitations. They are very reasonable and do a great job.

Invitations could be as unique as the individual couple. When my wife and I got married, I designed our invitation for personal touch, but then again, I am a photographer.

If you have a photographer, he/she might be able to assist in this department. If you need help contact me from my site. www.studiosaaa.com

Invitations do not have to be hard, make it creative and innovative.

I do not think much of diy invitations, especially after a client came to me with one that was horrible - alignment was wrong, line breaks were wrong, etc. Also, if you look carefully at the diy kits, they are not inexpensive as everything is separate and in small quantities, you use lots of ink, if you make a mistake you need to do it all again, you could have smears or crooked printing. I highly recommend getting an invitation professionally printed and then going to your craft store and enhancing it with rhinestones, pearls, bows, wraps, etc. This is a much more cost effective way to diy your invitation and get a quality product in the end. I have numerous beautiful reasonably priced invitations on my website Unique Invitations by Deborah Burman Carasso - www.invitationsbydeborah.com. I hope that this has been helpful.

It all depends on your budget. My wife and I did our own with a kit from a card shop. It was a great way to personalize and you can even include a nice picture of the two of you.

There is no vested interest here, but some of the nicest invitations that I have seen have been done not by printers, but by photographers. Such personalized with photos can be great. www.DanielClayMinistrie.org

Several invitation companies cater to all levels of clientele. Usually the most cost effective options are some of the online companies that invitation suppliers have "affiliations" with so you can shop online to find what fits your budget. Although if you are looking for supplies to Do it Yourself, there are ways to order supplies as well. ( I don't think we're allowed to promote ourselves in the forums, but we are listed here on Eventective, so you should be able to find us and other companies that create invitations that way.) Keep in mind that when you Do it Yourself, you'll want to order extra supplies for when you set up to print or assemble, as well as account for the time it takes to create everything. If you're a hand crafter, we encourage DIY. If not, it might be better to shop around for "ready to order".

Does anyone have any feedback on a resonable priced place to get wedding invitations? Is it worth paying extra to have someone do all the printing, or to buy a kit and do it all yourself?
