I am seeking a venue/restaurant in Raleigh, NC to host my 40th birthday party in September. I expect a maximum of 20 attendees and am trying to keep my budget under $600. I guess I am not in need of a DJ or any entertainment but would like to host my guests at a venue that is upscale and modern. I have looked into Solas but have heard more than a few negative comments regarding their strict dress code and the poor treatment of some who have utilized their valet parking because they did not arrive in "high end" vehicles. I want everyone to have a good time but not in a snobby, exclusive environment. Any ideas where I might be able to host this party in Raleigh? BTW, my friends are all very fun, active, people who are very hip and ageless so anything too formal will not be a good fit for this crew.
