Hi D. Walker,
I do not know about the DFW area but in Rhode Island one can rent historic mansions (which are essentially museums today) for special events. In North Carolina I know that furnished model homes in very much upscale housing/golf course developments are rented out for special events.
Thus, I would recommend:
- Checking with Historic Society in the DFW area and seeing if they have any ideas.
- Checking with real estate developers who might have upscale model homes and seeing if they rent them.
- Also, check with condominum associations to see if they will rent their club houses... and with any golf clubs to see if the would rent out their club houses.

We had a unique idea for our wedding/reception October 2011 to rent a luxury home in the Fort Worth/ Dallas, Texas area, but we don't know where to begin our search. We thought this was a great idea and would enable us to "do-it-our-way" without the cost of a pricey, and typical "wedding venue". Any and all ideas/ comments would be greatly appreciated. |
