After Gruaduation Fiesta
I am looking for a venue in Wichita Falls, TX for an after graduation banquet on May 30, 2015. Total of 25-30 guests.
My sister is getting married in 6 months, so I thought it's the best time to start planning on that. My sister wants a simple wedding and we'll have it in our grandparent's house in Santa Barbara. We are looking for party rental vendors in Santa Barbara who can take care of all the needs. Also need help on give away gifts. We want to give something to the guest which will stay with them long. Please share your thoughts. Thanks a lot in advance.
Oddly, people seem to be giving wedding advice to a question about marriage. Weddings have become so overdone in my mind that I think too many people sacrifice the real point for one day of celebration. The ritual is important, but the marriage is the point.

I've been successfully married 33 years. I think expectations are everything. There is no reality, but only perception, so make sure you aren't idealizing marriage or your partner. I find love is not actually as important as "like". Be aware of more than the emotion because like choosing a puppy, love will almost always grow, but compatibility, similar values and goals, the willingness to compromise, being trustworthy and trusting are so much more important.

Feelings come and go. Commitment is what will see you thru the bad days. Never consider divorce and solutions become possible.
Independent Association of Framingham State Alumni Ladies Night Out

I had the opportunity to present several mini Education by Entertainment programs at the Independent Association of Framingham State Alumni Ladies Night Out open house in Framingham, MA on Thursday, April 23, 2015. The event was a fundraiser to support the association whose mission is to provide scholarships to Framingham State University students, support the university and maintain the alumni house and its programs. Ladies Night Out was held at the association’s Alumni House at 42 Adams Road in Framingham MA.

Guests had the opportunity to tour the Alumni House (which is available for rental for business, community and family events) as well as to visit tables where vendors were selling or promoting products such as: Stella & Dot Jewelry, Handbags, and More; local honey and beeswax products; self-defense and safety, children’s car seats, CPR; beauty and skincare; health, nutrition and snacks; airbrush spray tanning; gifts for moms and grads and my Education by Entertainment programs. Several of the vendors including the self-defense, the airbrush spray and Education by Entertainment providers offered live demonstrations. Guests were also treated to a snack and desert table with cookies, brownies, crackers and cheese along with a wine tasting.

    Hi! An awesome place to hold your reunion is in West Chester. www.TheBallroomAtWestside.com or ChristinasCatering.com they work at alot of great locations. Another great place for a reunion but a bit pricy is www.RidleyMansion.com

    Looking for a place to hold our 30th high school reunion. Would love a less-traditional and less-formal space, maybe with some cozier places to sit and talk. Bar on site or bar service. Would be great if a hotel were within walking distance for those coming from out-of town. We held our last reunion at a hotel but the bar was not part of the main room and everyone mostly stood around the bar which cut down on mingling etc.

    In an effort to make this post an even more valuable resource we will periodically be updating our post with video tips from our newsletters. There are ten tips in this series and it is our hope that you will find them helpful.

    VIDEO TIP #7: The most precious commodity of the wedding day is one that very often is mishandled, misunderstood, misappropriated, and misjudged. This valuable commodity, while it may be available in abundance, there is only so much available for use and it is often not valued until it is gone. This here-to-for unmentioned commodity is, time.

    No couple goes into planning for their wedding day wanting to adjust, rearrange, or even cancel portions of their wedding day plans because they are 45, 60, or even 90 minutes behind schedule. Being late, for example, will affect the amount of time available for your post-wedding photography session, the holding time of the food at the reception can be impacted (that could make the difference between chicken that is moist and juicy or not), and being behind schedule can have an affect on the temperament and enjoyment of the day for your family and guests as well.

    Many couples may not consider the impact of travel from venue to venue or possible traffic conditions. Travel can become a major choke point in the flow of your wedding day plans. Not having enough time can even have a ripple effect on your wedding vendors and can be the difference between having great wedding video and wedding photo memories or just average wedding memories.

    Even with the best thought out wedding plans, things can happen. Bridal couples that make wedding plans that need to be carried out with military precision can also be making problems that are waiting to happen. Some bridal couples are guilty of cramming too much into the wedding day (sort of like trying to put a 6 pound ham into a 5 pound can) so consider the following thoughts ...

    * "Less can be more" sometimes having 3 wonderful parts to the wedding day can be better than 4 good parts. There are moments when trying to fit that "one more thing" into your wedding day plans could tip the balance from an enjoyable wedding day experience to a stressful one.

    * All of the major plans for your wedding day should be given a 10 to 15 minute time cushion. Adding up all of the time cushions should give the bridal couple 45 to 60 minutes of time to play with so that if the unexpected happens there is room to adjust and not have it adversely affect your remaining wedding plans. And if everything runs as smooth as a Swiss watch, well that will just give the bridal couple that much more time to really enjoy their wedding day.

    For specific recommendations you'll need to tell us where you are located.

    General recommendations:
    • see if a friend who lives in an apartment or a condominium has a clubhouse they can rent for you.
    • check with religious institutions, schools and other community organizations to see if they have a meeting room you can rent.
    • consider city and state parks with picnic shelters
    • check with hotels which offer free breakfast, but do not have a restaurant to see if they can rent you the breakfast area or a conference room.
    • check with family restaurants to see if they will give you a room free if everyone orders lunch off the regular menu.

    I am planning a Baby Shower Sometime in the summer. I only need a space to hold about 60 people. Tables Chairs and maybe a kitchen. I am on a budget, I have a baby to plan for! Can anyone help on a nice location that is not so pricey?!
    The bride and groom must determine the priorities, not the vendors. Every vendor here should be able to make the case for their service or product. However, if you really want a hopping great band, and flowers, photos aren't that important to you, get that band. Limo's can be replaced with Uber. Flowers can be bought at numerous places, and you can certainly find great photographers, bands, makeup, hair folks on Craigslist (and you can be burned there as well. Talk to friends. Ask their opinions. Look at their photos. What they might be so excited about, might give you an upset stomach.

    You run your wedding. No vendors. No parents. No siblings. It is your day. Do it your way. And remember, after all is said and done, you will be married. Relax as much as possible. The fewer the details, the fewer things that can go wrong. Focus on your marriage. That is what is truly important.

    Hi I'm looking for a space to rent for my 38 birthday for guest list around 50 people
    We have been asked to photograph corporate Christmas parties and seen gifts given at those parties. Usually in the $25-$200 price range. An occasional big screen TV is given away, or vacation. Depends on if the gifts are randomly drawn, or earned by being the best salesman for the past year, etc.

    Just did an event where every other person was given a pound of bacon. Former meat packing company retirees.

    Hello, i am looking for a venue or a lounge to rent out for an aftergrad party. Its going to be a 60 people party on june 14th or 15th. We have a big budget so the money is not a problem. Will review any suggestions.
    Hi Tiffani,

    I'm not familiar with your area (indeed, i don't even know what state it is in). That being said, here are some general ideas which may be of help:
    • Check with your school: Do they have a room they could loan or rent to you?
    • Check with friends who live in condominiums or apartment complexes: Do their buildings have a common area which they could rent at a low cost for you?
    • Check with your religious organization: Do they have a room they could loan or rent to you inexpensively?
    • Check with hotels which offer a free breakfast, but do not have another restaurant. Do they have a meeting room, or could they rent you the breakfast area?
    • Check with family restaurants in your area: Will they let you use a room or part of the restaurant that is separated from the rest of the restaurant if everyone orders a meal from the menu?
    Try to avoid full service hotels and other places which sell beverages. Beverages provide them with a significant revenue stream and they are unlikely to allow outside beverages. Even if the location sounds inexpensive, if they are charging you $3.00 for a bottle of water or a soda the cost will add up very quickly.
