If your idea of paradise is a vacation in the middle of Colorado for outdoor fun and recreation, we are the place for you! This cozy 3 bedroom (2 Queens, 2 Twins), 2 full-bath log cabin has a fully stocked kitchen, spacious living/dining area, gas fireplace, washer/dryer, WiFi, DirecTV and outdoor gas grill. No smoking or pets to honor sensitivities, please. Need some (limited) additional outdoor gear and/or shuttle service? Just ask!
Our cabin sits on 5+ acres with 360* views; a covered front porch facing the Collegiate Peaks and open back sun deck overlooking the Arkansas River. With privacy and solitude, you can reconnect with friends, family and nature during the day and see shooting stars like never before at night!
River Fun
We have 1/2 mile of very private Arkansas River frontage. You can also walk into Brown's Canyon National Monument for miles of solitary fishing or hiking. No need to fight for space on the river... This cabin is a fly fisherman's dream.
Or do you prefer to play in the water? Rafting, kayaking, SUP? We are surrounded by outfitters for these activities. Or walk down our path to the river and wave at friends/family as they raft by on their way to Brown's Canyon.
Mountain Adventures
Chaffee County boasts some of the best mountain biking in the state. Is hiking or trail running more your thing? We sit on the Continental Divide with the Collegiate Peaks in our front yard.
Come visit us in the winter! Snow shoeing or cross country skiing options are everywhere. Like to ski/snow-cat? Monarch Mountain is 45 minutes away and usually in the top 3 CO mountains for natural snow accumulation...and far fewer crowds!
Rest & Relax
If you need a break from your activities (or just need a break!) our cabin has 360* views. Just find a place on one of the decks and listen to the birds and river as you nurture your soul.
Mount Princeton Hot Springs is just 4 miles away and has not only hot pools, saunas, and spa amenities, they have world-class dining, as well.
Buena Vista and Salida have cute restaurants & shops and an ongoing calendar of events and festivities! Come for FIBARK or the Salida Beer Fest!
Our Story...
This riverfront property has been part of my family's adventures since the 1970s. As a child, the 2 original houses were built (my home and K Bar S, opposite sides of the property) and I have countless memories of coming up for the weekend to play: No TV, no phones, just reconnecting with each other and getting dirty in nature.
As an adult, it has been a sanctuary for friends and family to visit, relax, revitalize, recharge, adventure, and (re)find yourself amidst the chaos of life. Many of my friends have talked about how transforming the area is, and I've felt it for myself, too!
In 2017 Matt and I got married on our back porch then had a small dinner at Mt Princeton Hot Springs (picture to the right). If you dream of an intimate micro-wedding with 15 people or less to share your special day, let's make it happen! Or perhaps you want a romantic getaway for your honeymoon? Want to renew vows or celebrate an event? Let's make it an amazing memory for you!

$250/night; 1-4 adults
$300/night; 5-6 adults
Booking Notes:
*10% Discount for stays 7 nights or longer, 3 nights minimum stay required.
*$250 Deposit needed to secure reservation. Rates do not include $75 cleaning fee and 7.55% lodging tax.
*Check in after 3pm, check out by 10am unless otherwise arranged.
*Sorry, we cannot accommodate parties larger than 6, our septic just won't handle it. This includes additional people using campers.
*No smoking inside to accommodate sensitivities, we prefer no pets.
*We accept Venmo, Zelle, Checks, Cash, Paypal (with 3.5% fee)
