Dugan Best Community Recreation Center is part of Dugan Best Park which was acquired in 1941 as a city dump. The Land was cleared and renovated by honorable Mayor Dugan Best in 1966 for recreational purposes. In 1973 Dugan Best Recreation Center was built to serve the West end of the City to provide them with an indoor recreational facility. The Center was completed and dedicated in 1974, named after the honorable former Mayor Dugan Best who originally proposed the park.
Dugan Best Recreation Center provides a wholesome, quality, clean and safe environment for youth and adults of the community. The Center provides activities that can enhance the future goals of our youth and offers year-round recreation activities for all ages. It features a gym, stage, kitchen, game room, teen room, fitness room, and computer stations.
