Town Plans to Build Obama Hotel

December 17, 2008

A town in Ireland is planning to construct the “Barack Obama Hotel.”

barackobama.jpgA local businessman in the Offaly village of Moneygall plans to apply for permission to build a 150-bedroom Barack Obama Hotel.

The town hopes to draw visitors interested in the new president’s ancestral history. Barack Obama’s third great grandfather on his mother’s side came from Moneygall, according to research.

The town hopes that one day, Barack Obama himself will show up to “his” hotel when he comes to visit Ireland.

Liam Carroll, a local developer, plans for the hotel to include a “presidential suite” and a “White House Bar.”

Moneygall has a population of just 298 and is located about 120km from Dublin.

The construction of the hotel will create a lot of jobs and hopefully give tourism a boost as well.

This is stupid. People are trying to pointlessly capitalize on Obama’s victory. Should they build an Obama hotel in Western Africa? That is where originally homo sapien sapiens are from!

Chill out Alex. Why shouldn’t he capitalise on Obama’s victory, as should someone in west Africa. If we all sit around whinging and back-biting we’ll be wandering around like self-rightous, recession bound, headless chickens for the next decade. It’s a crazy idea which might work and might not but best of luck to him and all homo sapiens with a bright idea, even you Alex if you can come up with something positive.
Can we stamp out begrudging Ireland?
    Yes We Can - Hopefully!
    Best of luch Liam Carroll.

Got something to say?
