How Not to Propose Marriage
March 17, 2009
Hey, you wanna get married?
Let’s not and say we didn’t!
When you ask the person you love to spend the rest of their life with you, it should be a monumental occasion, a memorable moment that you will both recall for years to come, a story that you will want to tell over and over again as you journey down the long road to becoming wrinkly old prunes together!
In other words, it should not be LAME.
What’s the Best Time of Year to Get Married?
February 18, 2009
Your wedding day is one of the most significant days of your life. On your big day, you’ll want everything to be exactly how you always dreamed it would be, because it will provide you and your partner with beautiful memories as you embark on the journey of the rest of your lives together.
A tremendous amount of time and organization goes into planning a wedding, so the very first thing you need to do is set the date. Every part of the planning process, from booking the reception venue to hiring the caterer, depends on the time frame that you have to work with.
How Long Should the Engagement Last?
February 18, 2009
General Guidelines
Usually, it takes longer than just a few months to really get to know someone. It is a good idea to date someone for at least a year before you decide to get engaged, and remain engaged last at least another year before you tie the knot. This way you’ll have time to get to know your significant other even better, and you’ll have enough time to plan the wedding.
Are You Ready to Get Engaged?
January 20, 2009
So, you think you’ve found the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.
Are you sure about that? I mean, absolutely and positively sure about it? Because if you’re even considering proposing marriage, you had better be certain that your significant other is really “the one.” Otherwise, you could be looking at a divorce years (or even months!) down the line.
It is commonly said that the divorce rate in America is 50% (you can check the current stats at http://www.divorcerate.com). Don’t become a statistic. Only propose when you’re sure beyond the shadow of a doubt that you’re ready to commit. If there’s any doubt in your mind that your significant other is the love of your life, stop what you’re doing immediately so you can think long and hard about whether you’re ready for marriage! I DO! Taking Weddings to the Extreme
November 20, 2008
For some couples, a typical wedding ceremony on the ground just doesn’t cut it. Here are some ways that people go to extremes to inject their wedding with adrenaline and make it truly unforgettable.
Skydiving wedding
A skydiving wedding is the ultimate way to take the “plunge” into marriage! There are a couple of ways you can do this.
You can either say your vows on the ground before or after you jump out of the plane, or you can say your vows right before you jump from the plane 14,000 feet in the air!
When you land on the ground together, you’ll be married.

Your honeymoon is the opportunity for you and your new partner to relax and unwind after all the excitement of your wedding. When choosing a honeymoon location, you should find a place that offers you seclusion and a chance to get away from it all and spend some quality time together as newlyweds.

Wedding Planning for Unordinary Couples
September 2, 2008
A wedding is a joyous occasion in cultures around the world. While many couples opt for traditional wedding venues like reception and banquet halls, those who walk to the beat of a different drum seek extraordinary measures for their special day.
Consider Katie and Darren McWalters, an English couple who tied the knot 1,000 feet above the ground while they were strapped to the wings of two biplanes.
The bride’s dress fluttered wildly in the wind as the reverend (who flew ahead of the couple) married them over an airborne communications system.
Perhaps that isn’t as weird as the latest vogue in China. Despite discouragement from China’s more conservative leadership, many newlyweds are having their wedding photos taken while in the buff!
The hot trend is catching on as young brides wearing nothing but a veil and a smile pose for pictures that will end up in their wedding albums for all posterity (and posteriors) to behold!
If you’re looking for weird wedding venues, Seattle, Washington, offers several for those who desire the bizarre.

Muttrimony: Getting Married Doggy Style
July 7, 2008
It goes without saying that Americans are pretty insane about their pets.
It’s a common sight these days to see little dogs dressed up in sweaters and jackets, or sporting fancy rhinestone-studded collars. Many owners pamper and spoil their pets as if they were one of their own children.
One of the latest trends, and probably one of the weirdest, is when dog owners get together to marry their pets in Holy “Muttrimony.”
Believe it or not, marrying pets has become a huge. The entire process is almost identical to human marriages in that they have a receptions, real priests to marry them, and much more.
As one reverend told the Chicago Tribune:
“Marriage for an animal is almost like marriage for a human. An animal union is more like a blessing under God.”
“Well, I am a reverend,” Scott said. “If you’re in a family with two animals and they want to unite in a wedding, what difference does it make? It is not a sign of the Apocalypse. It is a sign that animals often seek to form a lasting bond and have deep commitment.”
