Lead Preferences

Only about 5 percent of site visitors submit event requests on Eventective.com.  But those planners who fill out our event request form - more than 600 per day - generate dozens of Competitive Leads to venues and all vendor types selected as part of their request.

Wading through all the leads you receive can be a chore, but it doesn’t have to be.  If you take the simple step of setting Lead Preferences, you can filter out the requests that don’t meet your basic parameters.  To set yours, click the Settings link under the Pay-Per-Lead column on your My Eventective page.

Lead Preferences are designed to help you qualify the leads you receive from Eventective.  These preferences are often specific to the type of service you provide, but the following preferences are common to all types:

Lead Preferences

  • Opt-Out of Pay-Per-Lead – If you are not interested in receiving and working competitive leads, check this box and you will only receive Referrals.
  • Email Notifications – Check this box if you still want to receive Competitive Leads on your My Leads page, but you don’t want to see Competitive Leads in your email inbox.  You will ALWAYS receive Referrals via email as well as on your My Leads page.
  • Special Promotions – Check this box if you do not wish to receive occasional promotional mailers about your listing.

 Lead Preferences

  • Lead Radius – Receive only requests submitted by planners within a reasonable distance from your location.  For Venues, consider how far your customers typically travel to enjoy your establishment.  Vendors consider how far you are willing to travel for your customers.
  • Minimum Attendees – Receive only those requests where attendee count meets or exceeds your minimum requirements.
  • Maximum Attendees – Receive only those requests where attendee count is equal to or less than your maximum capacity.  This is a key preference for Venues – there is no point in receiving leads for events you cannot host.
  • Maximum Overnight Rooms – This is only available for venues.  It is important to enter 0 if your venue does not have overnight rooms; you will not receive any leads from planners seeking hotel accommodations as part of their event request.
  • Phone Number Provided – Check this box if you only wish to receive leads where the planner has provided both an email address AND a phone number for contact information.  Roughly 80% of planners include a phone number.

 Lead Preferences

  • Event Horizon – This preference depends on your booking methods.  If you book events no more than 12 months in advance, you will only want to see leads with an event date within the next 12 months.  If you are booking more than 2 years out, leave this at the default setting of All leads no matter the date.

 Lead Preferences

  • Blackout Dates – Lead preferences offers a variety of ways to filter out leads by date.  You can define a specific date range when you are unavailable.  You can choose specific months when your business is always closed.  Or you can choose individual days of the week when you cannot offer your services.

Check out the Calendar functionality for an even more flexible scheduling tool.

 Lead Preferences

  • Event Types – Event requests are submitted as a particular type of event.  If there is a specific event type that your business does not service, select that type here to avoid receiving leads for those events.
  • Budgets – You identify budget ranges for which you do not wish to receive leads.  However, be very careful with this filter as most planners have no idea what to budget, or are not clear as to whether they are indicating their full budget or only for specific services.  It is much more helpful for you to display common package pricing on your listing to educate the consumer and set pricing expectations.

  • Service Types – The service type preferences are specific to each venue or vendor type.  Review your own Lead Preferences to see what service types are available and check those services which you do not offer.

Referrals and Competitive Leads are sent from Eventective@noreply.eventective.com, please add this address to your safe-senders list so potential business is not ending up in your junk folder.
