 7/29/2008 | | "Sadly Disappointed", An Eventective User from Milwaukee, Wisconsin | | We booked Extraordinary Parties and Events for a large party gathering (150 guests) at a residence. We decided on their cookout buffet including grilled meats and various sides (corn, fruit, potato salad, beans, veggies, etc.) I rated this caterer 2-stars because they were on time, and their set-up/display looked professional. Everything else wasn't quite as I'd expected and hoped for. The staff was friendly, but a bit unprofessional. I saw more than one of them eating dessert right off of the buffet. Another had a plate of food. I understand that there was plenty of food to go around, but never have I witnessed a caterer eating food right in front of their client (my food or not), especially while working the buffet line. We didn't get a platter of sliced, raw onions as stated in our agreement, and a special-ordered platter of sliced cheese for cheeseburgers was also forgotten. My last issue of complaint was how sloppily the staff left all of their garbage in flimsy plastic bags by my garbage cart for me to dispose. My garbage collection wasn't coming for several days so I was forced to take them to the city dump myself. In doing so, I discovered that their bags weren't secured tightly and baked beans spilled all over the driveway. Needless to say, things could've been done very differently overall. I really expected top-notch service, especially since I was promised their "A-game," and the majority of what I paid was towards service. Unfortunately, I won't ever know if the owner and his staff will use my feedback to improve (I took the time to thank the owner and share my concerns with him), since I don't plan on booking Extraordinary Parties and Events again.
