 9/17/2011 | | "Excellent Atmosphere", An Eventective User from Milwaukee, WI | This was an incredible venue for a wedding I just attended. The atmosphere was absolutely delightful and very unique for the city where the venue is located. The Mitchell Park Observatory is nicknamed ""The Domes."" There are incredible plants and trees in each featured dome at this venue. The backdrop provided for any ceremony is gorgeous. In the middle of a Wisconsin winter it is actually possible to be married in a desert environment complete with various desert dweller plants and scenery.
The coolest part about the domes is that there is one dome that has a constantly changing exhibit. So, it would be guaranteed that a wedding ceremony in that biosphere would be completely unique and unlike any other ceremony at the domes. One drawback about a wedding at the domes is that alcohol is not permitted and many people who get married at the domes choose to have a reception at a larger alcohol friendly hall in the neighboring area. However, I must say the staff at the domes is incredibly friendly and there is definitely sufficient parking for any size wedding party.
In addition to providing a fantastic atmosphere, there was ample room for dining and a gathering place for all the attendees before leaving for a much larger venue where the reception was to be held. The location is also very well located for a wedding in Milwaukee. The Domes are centrally located and convenient for anyone in Milwaukee to get to and find. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for a special wedding venue in Milwaukee, WI. |
