The multipurpose building of the India Center was built in order to house social and cultural activities with involvement of the community as a whole. The facility is roughly 15,000 square feet and has two floors; the main floor features a stage, a multipurpose hall that can seat up to 300 people, and a library with study area and office. The stage, which includes a changing room, is about 1000 total square feet. In addition, the hall has a special floor for indoor athletic activities. A balcony runs along the second floor wall of the entire hall, which provides unique views during a performance on the stage. A prayer hall, open for prayer to all religions, is at the balcony level and sets back for privacy. With 1000 square feet of space, the prayer hall can accommodate 150 persons. The lower level consists of a 3000 square feet dining hall, which includes a fully equipped kitchen and a conference room. Overall, the India Center is a well-equipped facility for just about any occasion, from a wedding reception to a conference or even a party. My senior prom was held at this venue, and it was an unforgettable experience! My band played on the amazing stage, and the main floor and balcony were packed with students celebrating the occasion.
