The Museum of Glass is a fine arts museum dedicated to presenting the medium of glass within the context of contemporary art in all media. The Museum presents the richness and diversity of the art of our time and explores how glass draws from and contributes to the many facets of contemporary art. In addition to the Hot Shop Amphitheater where visitors can watch artists work, the facilities include galleries, outdoor exhibition areas, a theater, studio, grand hall, store and café. The Museum of Glass is sponsored in part by the City of Tacoma Arts Commission, the Washington State Arts Commission and Arts Fund. The Museum of Glass provides a dynamic environment for visitors to experience and appreciate the medium of glass and the creative interaction between artists and art forms in contemporary art. Through exhibitions from around the world, engaging glass blowing demonstrations and thought-provoking programs, the Museum welcomes, inspires and educates a diverse global audience. The Museum's state-of-the art facility offers a unique venue and a variety of settings for corporate and special events, meetings, reunions, weddings and receptions.

| The Boardroom includes outstanding views of downtown Tacoma and the adjacent museum corridor. A wall of windows faces Union Station, the Chihuly Bridge of Glass, the Tacoma Art Museum and the Washington State History Museum. The Boardroom includes a large conference table, seating for twenty, a screen for presentations, and a credenza for food service. The Boardroom is ideal for small luncheons, dinners or brunch meetings with a contemporary art program. |

| The Grand Hall is an inviting 6,900 square foot entrance and primary circulation space for the Museum. From the Grand Hall program participants have direct access to the Galleries, Studio (a hands-on art activity space), Theater, Hot Shop Amphitheater and outdoor art installations. Northwest artist Cappy Thompson is featured in the Grand Hall with the piece titled: Gathering the Light, which is a mythical interpretation of a glass-making world, created in glass. Gathering the Light is symbolic of the Museum of Glass, the Hot Shop, and the art exhibited in the Museum's galleries. Program fees for the use of the Grand Hall include space for receptions and dinners with a contemporary art program, and space for dancing and musical entertainment if arranged. |

| Inside the Museum's 90-foot tall cone is the Hot Shop Amphitheater, a working glass studio where teams of artists blow and cast glass. The Hot Shop is the Museum’s signature space. As part of a special event program, the Museum will furnish a team of artists who will provide a private glass blowing demonstration. |

| The Museum’s Rooftop Level Sculpture Plaza offers an extraordinary panorama, encompassing Tacoma’s restored historic district, the upper portion of the Museum’s cone, Mount Rainer and the Olympic Mountain Range. The Rooftop Level Sculpture Plaza, at 5,400 square feet, is the largest of the Museum’s three outdoor sites and provides the perfect staging area for events with a contemporary art program. Program participants can easily circulate from the Rooftop Plaza to the interior of the Museum to enjoy the Galleries, Hot Shop, Theater and Education Studio. |
