"Gorgeous outdoor wedding venue a short ferry ride away from Seattle", An Eventective User from Tacoma, WA
The Cutting Garden is a gorgeous site for a wedding ceremony and/or reception. They also have a you-cut flower garden on site, and can (seasonally) supply your wedding or other event with fresh cut flowers grown right there! The gardens themselves are absolutely breathtaking, and the backdrop of the rose arbor where ceremonies take place is an amazing view of the Olympic mountains. They have an 1800s style farmhouse on the property, with a large, beautiful wraparound porch, so if your wedding needs to be moved inside, they can accomodate, unless it's a very large wedding! The fact that the farm is in Sequim means it's very unlikely that it will rain on your big day!
Be careful and be specific about your flower choices here. We talked wedding colors with the owner early in the planning stages, and also talked about using their flowers as opposed to bringing in from a florist. However, a month before the wedding when we met to talk flowers, they told me they wouldn't have anything available in my colors. I said that was okay and I'd go for pastels- however on my wedding day, they had bouquets in my colors, and table flowers that looked like they belonged at a completely different wedding! Not pastel OR my wedding colors! Very pretty, just not what I would have chosen (or thought I did choose). However the beautiful setting and flowers in the gardens made up for anything that was lacking in the table centerpieces. Truly a beautiful place, and an outdoor wedding setting that guests will not forget.
