Description
Jefferson Lakeside Country Club's golf course is the most naturally beautiful golf course in the Richmond area. Though it plays only 6,100 yards from the regular tees, the tree-lined fairways and hilly terrain make Lakeside one of the most challenging courses in the Richmond area.
Much of the course's natural beauty can be attributed to the unaltered terrain and a variety of 56 types of trees. Many of these trees were personally selected and imported from Europe by the original property owner, Lewis Ginter.Adding to the historic beauty of the course are the remnants of stone pits and cages that once housed a variety of animals at the turn of the century, when Mr. Ginter opened the park as a zoo and picnic area for the community.A lake and numerous creeks add to the course's charm and challenge. Unique to Lakeside's course is the ability to play it even after the most torrential rains. This is due to the natural drainage over the entire course. Located behind the main clubhouse is a full-sized swimming pool, kiddie pool, and play ground.Just a few yards from the main clubhouse, in a beautiful setting, are five Hartrue tennis courts. Our newly developed fitness center is located downstairs in our club house. The fitness center contains some of the finest exercise equipment, both cardiovascular machines and weight equipment, available today.
The Club Room and Banquet facilities include:A large ballroom and formal dining room.We cater to both small, intimate parties and large, formal events. We also provide catering both on and off the Jefferson Lakeside Country Club premises. The Club can accomodate up to 250 guests, depending on the type of event you are holding.Among Richmonders, Lakeside's food has been considered for years as the finest cuisine in town. Members who enjoy dining out often come back to Lakeside for its quality and service.
