The Camel since it's inception on March 3rd, 2007, has been featuring local, regional, national, and international acts, fast becoming one of the regions hottest spots for bands to play. We pride ourselves in giving opportunities to not only those with huge followings, but to those who have great talent in their genre and play a great show. Combining premier local acts with touring bands we have provided Richmond with many shows that would not have existed otherwise. The Camel, Richmond's new Social Oasis is available for community users. Since our opening just 6 months ago we have hosted fundraisers for many community groups who have raised over $5000 for their various causes. Local businesses, individuals, social activists, human service agencies, along with many artistic and cultural groups have utilized our space to date. They regularly hold receptions, practice dance, present fashion shows, develop the circus arts, host speakers, gather for parties, hold movie casting calls, run meetings, offer training sessions, and provide a variety of classes at The Camel. Since the Richmond community contributed significantly to the creation of The Camel we are committed to providing space for all community groups working to make a better city, and a better world. We do not have a fixed process regarding user costs since there are a range of possibilities as to what you may desire for us to provide.
