About Virginia Living Museum

Add a wild touch to your conference with an after-hours event at the Virginia Living Museum in Newport News, Va. Perfect for corporate parties, banquets and celebrations of all kinds for up to 600 people. Rent the indoor exhibit area where living exhibits recreate an Appalachian Cove and a Cypress Swamp. Enjoy the underwater world of the Chesapeake Bay and the underground world of a limestone cave. Start your event on the outdoor deck overlooking Deer Park Lake or have a cocktail party on the rooftop patio and look at the stars through the 16-inch telescope. Have your wedding in the 100-seat outdoor amphitheater overlooking Deer Park Lake and dance the night away at the reception on two levels inside. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres around the spiral staircase or a sit down meal amongst the nocturnal animals. Multi-media equipped classrooms, science laboratory and conference rooms are available for daytime meetings. All other rentals are after the museum closes at 5 p.m. The living exhibits in the museum’s dramatic 62,000-square-foot building bring people in contact with more habitats, wildlife and plant species than would be encountered in a lifetime of outdoor adventures in Virginia.
