Description
A circa 1890 brick Victorian mansion, Evergreen, The Bell-Capozzi House is a Southwestern Virginia bed and breakfast that graces the hills of Christiansburg in the heart of the Blue Ridge Highlands. The home's lavish facade conceals what guests call "relaxed elegance".
Fireplaces warm the two parlors, and the entire facility has central air conditioning. The formal library converts easily to a conference room that can accommodate 10 people. Innkeepers Rocco and Barbara restored and decorated the house without altering it. The backyard houses an in-ground heated pool, gazebo, rose garden, and fish pond.
After a good workout in the pool, you can settle into comfort in a poster bed in one of five large bedrooms, including a Gone with the Wind bedroom with a king-size, four-poster bed. Rooms are decorated with works of talented local artists and a collection of "VIB" bears. Each room combines rich heart pine floors and original light fixtures with the modern amenities of television and a VCR. Godiva chocolates in the rooms are an extra-special treat. A fax machine and computer are available for business travelers.
Each morning, awake to the aroma of a traditional Southern breakfast prepared by your hosts, complete with fresh fruits and local jams, jellies, and apple butter. Begin with homemade country biscuits, followed by delicious country ham and homemade cheese grits. Entrees also include eggs as well as silver dollar pancakes topped with fresh maple syrup. Linger with a second cup of Gevalia coffee or tea at the close of the meal, an ideal time to plan your day in the area.
