Earle Harrison House & Pape Gardens, Waco — Earle-Harrison House & Pape Gardens is located at Waco, TX. Built in 1858 for Dr. Baylis Wood Earle, wife, Ann Eliza Harrison Earle and family, this side-entry Greek revival style home is Waco's only restored antebellum building. With nine cypress columns and longleaf heart pine exterior sheathing, the 5,000 square foot structure has fourteen foot first-floor ceilings, walkthrough windows onto verandas, and spacious rooms. It's collection of fine Victorian furnishings and artifacts were gifts from Waco citizens, along with pieces from the Earle and Harrison descendants. The permanent 60x90 white, high pole tent is sited over a two-tiered, stained cement floor, easily large enough to seat 200 or more guests w/ a dance floor. The tent has detachable cathedral window sidewalls, offering inclement weather protection for your event, fans or heaters add comfort to your event if the weather dictates. Exterior beds are landscaped, tent poles are planted with jasmine and ivy; surrounding grass shaded by mature pecan and oak trees offers extra seating space. Walkways connect your guests to Pape Gardens’ major features including a double gazebo which is popular for weddings. Rentals include white wedding chairs, a variety of tables, white floor-length linens, a PA system, glassware & decorative items along with numerous other amenities. The home's handhewn columns and veranda offer old Southern charm to bridal or engagement photography. A dressing room with full-length mirrors allows you to dress on-site.
