The Heard-Craig House, built in 1900, is one of the most beautifully preserved historic homes in North Texas. The gracious hospitality of the Heard family made this residence a center of social, business, art and literary activities. The Heard-Craig is now a 501 c3 non-profit institution whose mission is to continue Kathryn Heard Craig's vision: promote the fine arts through educational programs and exhibits, provide meeting facilities for women's clubs, and honor the legacy of the Heard & Craig families through the preservation of the historic properties. Heard-Craig Hall is an elegant Victorian Romanesque structure with crystal chandeliers, Roman columns and a main reception hall crowned with a 144 sq. ft. art glass skylight. The Hall hosts art exhibits, theatrical productions, weddings, receptions, business meetings, musical and dance programs. The main reception hall can seat 350 guests theatre style and 250 at table. The Heard-Craig Gallery is a lovely reception room for 100 and features beautifully painted terrace and garden murals by Plano artist Carol Rupp.
