"Great Escape, but not a regular venue.", An Eventective User from Atlantic, IA
I was told that I had to go to Dallas for presentations for prospective clients. As usual, I used my network of family and friends to give me ideas and references. I quickly dismissed hotels, as I spend so much time at hotels for this expressed purpose, that I get tired of them. That being said, I spoke with a high-school friend of mine who married and moved down to Fort Worth and was also in business, but a different type, he was a analyst, as such he had been asked to go to meetings all the time.
He recommended Gator's Croc and Roc. I asked him why, and he said that it offers a different type of experience than most business ventures and it sticks with people. I called and booked the roof patio, as they have no separate rooms. The size of the patio meant that it was easy to accommodate the 30 people that I had, but it also meant that offer the big presentation, it was easy to break off and speak individually with each client. Service was nice. The venue was a little different as you could hear the night-life wind up from downstairs. The waitresses were very pleasant and didn't hover. The drinks were great. They specialize in various frozen drinks and this made for an interesting night as both the clients and I spent hours ordering different drinks.
Now I am recommending this place as an occasional place for meetings, as the environment is more conducive to get-togethers or parties than it is business, but as a break from the mundane nature of business it is a nice occasion to visit. If you are looking for a novel, cheaper than expected environment for an occasional business espcape, this is a great place. Good service, good food, great drinks and very affordable. As I said, the biggest thing is this isn't a normal business meeting place, so bring your own laptop(they have internet) and projector and screen, but the ambience is a pleasant escape from the doldrums of normal business.
