About Joey McGee Music

Joey McGee derives his Folk/Rock/Groove sound from a host of soul, rock and folk influences: Bill Withers, The Eagles, and The Brothers Johnson among others. The New Orleans native embarked upon his musical journey after high school when he purchased his first guitar and a songbook that promised proficiency of playing in only twenty minutes! The budding artist continued to cultivate his musicianship and discovered the ability of singing along the way - as he worked with various summer camps and youth groups, especially in New Mexico and Southwestern Pennsylvania. Joey was employed as music director for several churches and performed with a number of independent acts in the Pennsylvania area before embarking on a solo career. His debut album "Alive & In The House" a live recording – was released in 2007. His sophomore release "Love Is The Way" is currently in the works and is due to be released later this year. Currently, Joey and his family reside in Central Texas where he continues to hone his craft as a performing artist and, he continually works on mastering that twenty-minute songbook.
