About Hyde Park Presbyterian Church

Hyde Park Presbyterian Church is centrally located in the charming and historic Hyde Park area of Austin, which is known for its tree lined streets, diversity and culture. The area is still very much community based and places great importance on maintaining the architectural integrity of its buildings. Our church buildings and grounds were completely renovated recently in celebration of our hundredth anniversary. The grounds, which are covered by flowers that change through the year, provides a beautiful setting for weddings. Our sanctuary comfortably seats 130 guests and offers an intimate atmosphere for your special day. Wooten Hall is available for rehearsal dinners or receptions as and Mavis' House has everything a bride needs for dressing, preparation and relaxation before the ceremony. This is a beautiful little church for a wedding and I am so happy that we chose to marry there. Karen was great and gave us several suggestions on simple ways to make our wedding elegant. The pianist, April, is so talented and worked with us on selection of music that made our ceremony special to us. I can't imagine marrying any where else.

We loved having our wedding here. The church is lovely and it was the perfect place for our wedding... just what we were looking for. The location was great and the rates were very reasonable. Many of our guests commented on how charming the church was and what a nice setting the tree lined yard provided. Karen was very kind and helpful. We met with her a number of times during the planning process and really appreciated her input and suggestions. Their wedding website provided us with some great ideas for decorations, invitations and other aspects of planning that we hadn't thought of. It also has some really nice photos of the church, the yard and other weddings. They offer the services of their pastor, pianist and violinist, but don't push you to use them. We had our own pianist and soloist and were pleased at how great the acoustics were. Everything was wonderful and I would highly recommend Hyde Park Presbyterian for your wedding.

I used to live in Austin and had driven by this darling church many times. When my finance and I decided to get married, I knew this was the place I wanted our ceremony be. Karen was so helpful by meeting with us on more than one occasion and was always available to answer any questions that we had. The pastor was so gracious and warm and performed a beautiful ceremony while April, the pianist, played beautifully. The location was very convenient to our reception site and the setting was very pretty. I highly recommend Hyde Park Presbyterian to all couples who are planning their wedding.
