Meadowbrook Recreation Center

This 52-acre park was purchased on September 28, 1923, at a cost of $5,200. Meadowbrook Park touted the first golf course in Arlington. At one time the ninth tee used to cross through the only softball diamond located in the city. At the advice of the Park Board, golfers would yield to the softball players during the evening hours of the summer. The 13,000 square foot Recreation Center was built on the northern edge of the park in 1964. Meadowbrook Recreation Center is a multi-purpose facility designed to meet the recreational needs of Arlington residents and visitors. Geared toward athletics, this facility offers a variety of structured athletic activities. Meadowbrook Recreation Center is a 13,000 square foot facility located at 1300 East Dugan in Meadowbrook Park which features picnic tables, playground, pavilion and a nine hole golf course. The center is open Monday through Saturday and features a fully equipped weight room available for a small monthly fee.
