Since cutting his teeth on the Nashville music scene, Toluenes vocalist & songwriter Jamon Scott has narrated his tales of love and alcohol on stages from Asbury Park, N.J. to Los Angeles, CA, including the legendary Rainbow Room on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip. With comparisons to John Mellencamp, Jimmy Buffet and Steve Earle, Jamon has garnered Best Male Vocals and Best Lyrics awards on *NOT DISPLAYED* . Scott also made his small screen debut in the 2007 Indie Gathering Film Festival winner for Best Television Pilot, “Bottle Rockets”. In addition to co-writing and co-starring in the episode, Jamon performs several songs. “Bottle Rockets” was screened at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival and garnered top awards at the 2009 Las Vegas International Film Festival, the Accolade Television Awards and the World Independent Film Expo.

Founding member and bassist Dan Allen Crawley, a prolific songwriter in his own right, spent several years in Nashville, honing his craft in such clubs as the famed Bluebird Cafe, eventually signing his first publishing deal. Crawley spent the late 1990’s “paying his dues” on the Lexington, KY music scene before joining forces with Jamon in 2005 to form The Toluenes. Dan also appears in the Bottle Rockets pilot, playing himself and performing a handful of songs.

New guitarist Brian Blush got his first taste of success in 1995 when his band, The Refreshments, were accepted into the South By Southwest music festival. The appearance resulted in the band being signed by Mercury Records. Their debut release for the label, Fizzy Fuzzy Big & Buzzy, garnered two Top 20 hits, including the Top 10 Banditos. The Refreshments also wrote and recorded the theme song for FOX TV’s King Of The Hill.

Drummer Chris Rickman, a “Toluene” briefly in 2005, returns after serving tours-of-duty with the east-Tennessee-based Southern Steel and Shattered Bliss. Rickman has played opening slots for such artists as David Allen Coe, Marshall Tucker Band, Saving Able and the Deaf Pedestrians.

“…The Ramones meet Tom T. Hall”, “…a band with an attitude that’s all beer and backbone.” and “…one of those rare bands that makes you feel good, thoughtful and contemplative all at the same time” are just a few of the words reviewers have used to describe The Toluenes. Their latest c.d., “Cervezas, Senoritas, Etc., Etc.”, was recorded in Nashville and co-produced by Jim Allison, who wrote such hits as Reba McEntire’s “What Am I Gonna Do About You” and LeAnn Rimes’ “Fade To Blue”. The first two singles from the disc, Middle Of Nowhere and Bones, are currently receiving airplay on various independent and internet radio stations while the videos have logged thousands of views on YouTube. The self-proclaimed Southwest band from the Southeast is a 2010 Hossey Music Award finalist and the official spokeshombres for Kentucky’s own Ale 8 One soft drink.
